Meal Planning Assignment

Problem

Our problem was to make a weekly dinner plan that includes everyone with their different activates. it will outline who cooks, when they will cook and what they will have for dinner.

Solution

Day Mon Tues  Wed ThursFri
Who is cooking Teen 1 and 2 Teen 1 and 2 Teen 1 and 2 Parent B Teen 2
What’s for dinner Chicken noodle soup Basic white rice  Black bean tacos Beef and Spinach Lasagna Leftover
lasagna
Time5:45 6:15 6:30 6:50 5:45

Justification

Monday: We chose teen 1 and teen 2 because they were the only ones home, we also chose 5:45 because it was a good time to eat because everybody was home. the reason we chose chicken noodle soup is because it’s an easy dinner to make

Tuesday: Teen 1 and Teen 2 are cooking again because their the only ones that are home once again. we chose basic white rice because its easy to make and Teen 2 has soccer at 6:30 and that’s the same reason why we chose dinner to be at 6:15.

Wednesday: Teen 1 and Teen 2 are cooking again because the parents aren’t home yet again to cook. the teens are making black bean tacos because there’s a lot more time than the other days. the time that dinner will be ready is 6:30 because they have a lot more time so why not make it as early as they can

Thursday: Parent B and Teen 2 are cooking because everyone else is busy. the parent and the teen are making Beef and spinach lasagna because its a nice big dinner and their not as busy during the evening or night time and dinner is at 6:50 because everyone is home at that time.

Friday: Teen 2 is cooking because everyone else has a very busy day ahead of them. dinner will be at 6:15 because that’s when everyone is home, sadly Teen 2 will not be home to eat. their having left overs because it was a busy day and their tired.

Collaboration Reflection

Describe all the ways your group communicated and shared information with each other.

I shared a Word document with my group members and we all worked on it together. We were also talking as well.

Describe all the ways your group used technology.  Describe situations where technology was helpful, and if applicable, when it made your work more difficult.

Our group used a shared Word document, looked at resources that Ms. Lam gave us and we put our final project into Edublog. Technology helped us because typing is faster than writing. The shared Word document meant everyone could work at the same time. Sometimes people had trouble with technology because their device wasn’t charged or they were having trouble getting on the internet.

Describe in detail how tasks were distributed in your group.

We let each person choose which day and which family member they wanted to plan for.

What specific tasks did you complete?  When I look at your group’s solution, where can I see evidence of your contribution?

I am the one who started the Word document and shared it with my group. I also planned the meal for Monday night.

Self Assessment:  Collaboration & Critical Thinking

  • If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to search for more information to figure out what to do.
  • I show others that I truly value their contributions by listening to them and helping them if they need it.
  • I seek, develop and weigh options as demonstrated by when I had to choose between different recipes based on how long they would take to cook.
  • I remain open minded as I explore viable options or alternative approaches, like when my group chose to have leftovers on Friday night.
