Positive Learner Identity

My strength throughout this semester was asking questions, I often ask questions in all o my courses mainly in LEC to get help with math. By asking questions during class it helps me understand the project/ assignment so I can properly study for upcoming tests/ quizzes. This made me successful because it gives me a better understanding of what I’m working on.

Core Competency Reflection

I can identify ways in which my strengths can help me meet my challenges, and how my challenges can be opportunities for growth. By being able to know my strengths I know what I am good at and when I meet my challenges I can ask for help or find another way of doing what I’m struggling with. Being able to know my strengths and weaknesses can be a way of getting help from my teachers so they know what I struggle with and what I’m stronger with.

Life Saving Measures

In this unit 3 things that I learned were recognizing the emergency, using the proper training to identify the issue effectively and efficiently, I also learned a fast and efficient way to check the abc’s. From the training and information that I learned I will be able to use it in an emergency situation instead of just standing and watching. I found that this training was extremely helpful because I got to learn how different people react to drugs. People who often are users of drugs and alchohol are used to the different effects it maybe cause but people who don’t use them will have a harsher reaction to stronger drugs. Alcohol can effect the body in many ways which was cool to learn about and also helpful because it can prevent people from drinking alcohol if they know the effect it does to their body.

Critical and Reflective Thinking Competency Reflection

I can analyze evidence to make judgements, I can do this in a potential emergency situation by assessing the state of a patient using the abc’s. This could be helpful in the future in case I may need to use my training.

Linear and Non-Linear Equations

This is a Non-Linear equation because the exponent on the variable (x) is higher than one and the graph has multiple curves in it.

y = 1/2 x^3

this equation is a Non-Linear because it is a circle and both of the variables in this equation have a exponent higher than 2.

x^2 + y^2 = 16

Linear Equations

this equation is a linear equation because both variables in this equation have an exponent of 1 and it is a diagonal straight line.

2x-3y=12

this is a linear equation because it is a straight line going up and down the variable (x) has an exponent of one which makes it a Linear.

x = 4

I explored mathematical ideas using technology when I put the equations into desmos to help me visualize the equations on a graph.

I analyzed data and used criteria to draw conclusions when I compared different graphs to see if they were linear or non-linear.

I justified my conclusions with evidence when I explained how the equation was non-linear or a linear equation.

I can form new ideas about something that I am very interested in and I can also find ways to create new things to show my way of learning. I can use the ideas of my peers to form new ideas and make them in a way easy for me to understand

I can identify and describe my qualities in my careers project I talked about my qualities that would be helpful for my career path I also described my qualities that would be helpful to have for the job that I would like to do in the future.

I can understand and share information about a topic of interest in a clear and organized way. I was easily able but a little nervous to share my interests about nursing and helping others. I can also share information about other topics of interest with ease.

I demonstrate respectful and inclusive behavior when I am asked to work in groups, I always like to make sure that everyone is included. Showing respect to my peers is something that I always do because it is something that everyone should do.

Curricular Competency

I can describe my career life goals, personal growth and my initial planning for preferred career life pathway. In my presentation I described my career life goals and my initial planning for my career life pathway. I still need to work on being able to describe my personal growth but that is something I can work on and get help with.

Goal I have for Myself Moving Forward

A goal that I have for myself moving forward is to have better time management skills. A way I could do this skill is to use my class time wisely and ask for help when I am confused about something.

Positive Learner Identity

In the start of the term, we got an assignment to make a me card which was a hands-on activity, so this is what I created. I feel I do better with hands on activities as I don’t usually like to do stuff online, I understand things more when it’s on paper because I can highlight it and add notes onto the paper. My strength helped me be successful because I got to show it in this assignment, I put a lot of thought and effort into this. During this assignment I also showed my skills on being able to ask questions, I asked how many drawings we would need and how specific he wanted the drawings to be. Something I could work on is getting my assignments in on time or my presenting abilities because a lot of my assignments don’t in until past the due date. I could also work on my presenting skills because I get nervous and don’t feel confident enough to present especially when it is on a topic, I am not strong with.

If we are given an assignment in any class and we have the option to do it hands-on that is most likely what I would do so it makes it easier for me to show my strengths. A way I could improve my presenting skills is by practicing talking in front of people or answering questions in class voluntarily. Another one of my challenges is getting my assignments in on time a way that I could improve with this is making sure I use my class time properly. When I get home, I could try to prioritize homework over phone time I could also talk to my teachers to see what I’m missing and when I go home, I can write it down on my whiteboard at home as a reminder of what needs to get done.

Physics Unit Core Competency Reflection

I was not there for it, so I had to do this lab on my own I was given the sheet with the information I just had to do the calculations. In this lab I showed critical thinking because I worked independently and answered the equations on my own with no help from any group members. I can ask open ended questions to gather information, I showed this by asking my science teacher for help then I used that information I received to answer my questions on the worksheet that I received. I would like to improve my collaboration skills, I can show this by being involved with my group members and asking them questions. Next time we do group projects I will try to be more involved I work better when I’m in a group with people that I know. Another area I could show improvement is using my time wisely I was barely there for that class so next time I will try to gather some information from my group member before I leave.

Unit person gets all kitchen appliances and ingredients out and ready for use. par cook potatoes well some of the other veggies are cooking once all things are cooked add egg to pan and put into the oven until the egg is cooked to your liking

This recipe turned out really good because the food was fully cooked very flavourful and very colourful. All the ingredients were fully cooked nothing was undercooked or too soft. Everyone in my group worked well together and made sure the food was cooked properly and on time.

Core Competency Reflection

If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to give tasks to each member of my group otherwise the disagreement will get worse, and we will noy know what to do. When there is a disagreement, and we can’t figure out what to do we usually ask our peer tutor.

I know the group is working well together when I hear/ see people smiling or getting along with each other. When the group is working well together, we are not disorganized, and we cook well together.
