Creative Thinking Reflection

While creating this artifact about transcription and translation, I used creative thinking by breaking down the complex processes of protein synthesis into clear, step-by-step visuals. To form my ideas, I first reviewed my notes and textbook diagrams, then reimagined them in a way that made sense to me, using numbered steps and arrows to show the flow from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. I built upon the teacher’s (Ms. Chew) explanation and class discussions, which helped me realize the importance of showing how mRNA travels and matches with tRNA.

One strategy that helped me generate new ideas was sketching rough drafts before finalizing the design. This allowed me to adjust the positions of the DNA, mRNA, and ribosome images to make the sequence clearer. The use of color (like the purple DNA strand) helped visually connect the transcription and translation stages.

If I were to improve this for next time, I would add labels for each part (like the ribosome, amino acids, and peptide bonds) more clearly and maybe include a small summary for each step to reinforce the concept. I also think adding color coding for codons and anticodons would make the matching process even clearer.
