An example of where I took a significant risk in my thinking or the expected process was when I used a new unfamiliar creative art. Before making my poster I knew I wanted to try something creative, of course I could have simply drawn or cut out pictures, etc. But, I wanted a challenge, I got inspiration from a pulp fiction poster I saw on Instagram so I made it from cutouts of construction paper.
One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is using things I enjoy in my schoolwork. Getting to write and research about a film I’m interested in helped me have more fun and be more creative when making my poster.
A goal I have moving forward in French 11 is to use extending vocabulary outside of the chapter we’re learning. I can keep working on this through thinking back to previous knowledge, as well as asking more questions to extend my learning.
By doing my best to help othetes with things they may not be understanding while in group work in the classroom, I make a positive difference to my peers.
Some of the ways I work to build and maintain relationships are by making small talk in group work. By asking others about their weekends or other classes it builds more of a connection.
Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in the group work we do in class. I always make sure I’m communicating with others.
An example of something I have spent a lot of time learning about is how applications of pre Calculus work.
Broken Planet has been promoting their message through their brand. I have been familiar with it for a while now and that’s what inspired me to make the two different posters. I wanted to further portray their inspiring message through posters of my own. For more information on the message, I did some research by looking at their foundation section on their site where it explains what their goals are with helping the world. in order to make my posters I used a couple different websites for different steps. in order to make the posters I used adobe express; I found the software easiest to use for my assignment. to look for reference photos and strategies I just did some basic google searches. While making the posters I wanted to make sure I had a design that wasn’t too simple but had a message people could take the time to read and get an idea of what Broken Planet is about. The biggest challenge with the assignment was making the posters visually appealing with the tools and lack of experience I had.

I have valuable ideas to share about things we can do to make the world a better place and do so by choosing brands who support those ideas and encourage others to as well. This being represented through my poster’s messages.
When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I take small breaks while working. This helps to gain new perspectives or re focus due to the repetitiveness of these assignments.
I appreciate feedback on assignments and prefer it comes in the form of a specific example or discussion. this helps me to improve on my work and have a better understanding of what I can do better on future assignments. Asking questions also allows me to share my thinking on different things.
Thinking: I can analyze evidence to make judgements. After seeing the colour that different chemical reactions made I could figure out whether the substance was acidic or basic. The different pH indicators turned different common colours based on acidity levels.
I can work with others to achieve a goal. I demonstrated this by working with a partner and finding strategies to most affectively finish the lab. I also demonstrated communication skills by talking to my partner on things like next steps, what they observed, etc.

1. Short Reflection
The part of my life I excel most in is making positive social connections and getting daily exercise. I spend a lot of time walking around, playing basketball, and at the gym which helps me stay active and socializing with others. An aspect I can improve upon is getting more sleep. I spend time on after school activities and getting home late having to eat and do homework makes it a challenge to go to sleep and get up early, to improve upon it I can work to manage my time better. During the unit I demonstrated communication. In class we did group activities to help us learn about nutrition and working as a team with Ales and Rhys took communication.
2. Core Competency
For my core competency I chose personal responsibility as felt it connected to my artifact. I thought this connected because keeping up with getting exercise and eating less took discipline and responsibility. I did it because a goal of mine is to get in better shape and to grow certain muscles. I did this by going to the gym often and eating less than I normally would have.
I enjoyed reading the book, it was a great novel. I enjoyed the story line and the characters in the book. Scout was the protagonist and all the lessons she learns throughout the story are interesting, how she learns them over the course of the book was really good. The book also gave an insight into the nineteen thirties and how different life was compared to now. I enjoyed it because you can relate but also see the differences between my childhood and Scout’s and Jem’s. The book was also suspenseful and had many surprises which made it exciting to read. The suspense of getting to see Boo Radley at the end of the book was my favorite part of the book.

My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include making sure I was paying attention while reading. I made sure that after I read some of the book that I remember what just happened.
I can describe how the story relates to the experiences I had as a younger kid. Scout and Jem went on a lot of adventures and learned many things growing up. There are some parts of the story where Jem has to be the older brother and me being an older brother I can relate to him.
One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is listening to an audio book while reading. Having an audio book while reading helps me focus on the story. It helps me not lose focus and think about other things.
The first thing we did before making the Fettucine Alfredo was getting the recipe sheet and reading through it. Then to the best of our ability we filled out the sheet. Things like the equipment we need, the steps we need to take, and what ingredients we pick up from the ingredient table. After that Mrs. Bolli demonstrates how to cook the meal in class while we watch and observe; while watching we fill out anything we missed on our recipes. Lastly before cooking we review the recipe and make any necessary changes.

I show that I value feedback from others in my group by asking them questions about their ideas. I do my best to listen to the speaker and take their ideas into consideration and talk to them about it.
Goal
While working in the kitchen, I help to build and extend understanding by always being an active listener. my goal is to learn more about food and the different flavors you get from ingredients. I’ll achieve the goal by learning more from Mrs. Bolli and spending my free time cooking recipes I learn from others.

I learned that the person that is most important to impress is yourself. This year I enjoyed all the school sports I was involved in and finding happiness in what I do, I was happy about finally seeing results from the work put in when it came to the grades i was getting and our freshman basketball district Championship. This year I overcame the challenge of not having self love and worrying about the perception other people had of me. I reached the goal of maintaining As in my second semester courses and having some success in sports. I most proud of myself for loving my self and what I do everyday.

I consider more than one way to proceed in an investigation
for our contract law storyboard there was a lot of ways to proceed with the assignment. I was able to consider my different options and find one that suited best.
When doing the sway project, I had to do a lot of research and make judgments and decide how to answer the assigned questions with the information I gathered. I also had to analyze images to see which ones would fit the writing or question best.
