Social Studies 10 Reflection

In Social Studies 10, I learned about major events of the 20th century, such as World War II and key moments like the Battle of Britain, where Britain stood strong against German attacks. I also studied Japan’s role in the war and its surrender after the atomic bombings. We examined the Great Depression, a worldwide economic crisis that affected millions and led to rising tensions. I learned about the Holocaust, where millions of Jewish people were persecuted and killed by the Nazis. These events taught me about the impacts of war and the importance of remembering history to avoid repeating such tragedies.

Core Competency

In Social Studies 10, I learned about important events like World War II, the Great Depression, and the Holocaust, which shaped the world we live in today. I studied how nations like Britain showed resilience during the Battle of Britain and how prejudice led to tragedies like the Holocaust. This course helped me understand the connections between history and current issues, teaching me the importance of empathy and responsibility.
