Is Violence Justified During a Revolution?

A) How did the use of AI assist you in developing this project

The use of AI assisted me in developing this project by giving me different perspectives of revolutions and protests that happened around the world and in the past relating to my side of the argument which was the pro side of is violence should be justified during a revolution.

B) How did you ensure that the work you created was still your own, rather than just a product of the AI

To ensure the work I created was my own, rather than just a product of the AI, whatever information it gave me I would look over it, then memorize it and type the information down. I also cited the websites the AI got it’s information from.

C) Did you agree with the position you had to argue? Why or why not?

I agree with the position I argued with because I think that if in a society, the government is not treating it’s people fairly, then people should fight for their rights or in some cases, a better government system. Another reason is that if a certain group in a society is facing injustice, then they should also fight for their rights too.

Core Competency Reflection

Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in the podcast me and my partner created like making sure that my voice is clear and easy to hear for other people to listen to and being engaging. I use evidence to make judgements or decisions as demonstrated in this project/podcast by making sure I cite the websites I’m getting my information from and including that in the podcast. I also made sure that I looked at different perspectives around the world and what happened in the past to use the evidence for my judgments.

Social Studies 9 Reflection

My Artifact

French Revolution – Political Comic Strip.

For our first unit in Social Studies 9, I learned about the French Revolution and how different political parties wanted to run France after the monarchy was abolished. My artifact focuses on the Jacobins and Girondists which were the two main political parties of France at the time, and the Monarchists group.

Curricular Competencies Reflection

In my artifact, I demonstrated perspective and consequence. For perspective, I demonstrated how the Jacobins, Girondists and Monarchists wanted to run France and what they wanted to do with the king. For consequence, I explained how the Jacobins and Monarchists wanted to make their changes for France. For example, the Jacobins who wanted a Republic government. believed that if anyone still believed that France should have a monarchy, would be executed, such as the Monarchists who wanted France to still have a monarchy. The Girondists, who wanted a Constitutional monarchy believed that the changes they wanted to make could be done without violence.

Core Competencies Reflection

During this assignment, I grew into the thinking category because I was explaining the perspectives of 3 different groups and what their political ideas for France were at the time. Using creative thinking, I presented this artifact on a comic strip which was also part of the assignment. I developed my ideas on how to present this project by writing down notes of the key ideas of what they believed and put all the information I had together. Even though I got proficient/extending on the assignment, something that I want to improve on for next time is to better explain the perspectives like going more above and beyond than a proficient level.
