My Artifact

French Revolution – Political Comic Strip.
For our first unit in Social Studies 9, I learned about the French Revolution and how different political parties wanted to run France after the monarchy was abolished. My artifact focuses on the Jacobins and Girondists which were the two main political parties of France at the time, and the Monarchists group.
Curricular Competencies Reflection
In my artifact, I demonstrated perspective and consequence. For perspective, I demonstrated how the Jacobins, Girondists and Monarchists wanted to run France and what they wanted to do with the king. For consequence, I explained how the Jacobins and Monarchists wanted to make their changes for France. For example, the Jacobins who wanted a Republic government. believed that if anyone still believed that France should have a monarchy, would be executed, such as the Monarchists who wanted France to still have a monarchy. The Girondists, who wanted a Constitutional monarchy believed that the changes they wanted to make could be done without violence.
Core Competencies Reflection
During this assignment, I grew into the thinking category because I was explaining the perspectives of 3 different groups and what their political ideas for France were at the time. Using creative thinking, I presented this artifact on a comic strip which was also part of the assignment. I developed my ideas on how to present this project by writing down notes of the key ideas of what they believed and put all the information I had together. Even though I got proficient/extending on the assignment, something that I want to improve on for next time is to better explain the perspectives like going more above and beyond than a proficient level.
