ADL- Financial Literacy

Calculations

3 year GIC

Year 1: 80,000 x 1.042= 83,360$

Year 2: 83,360 x 1.042 = 86,861$

Year 3: 90,509+ 30,000= 120,509$

Saving: 30,000$

Justifacation

I chose GIC because i was interested in learning about it as i already knew lots about stocks and savings. The strengths about a GIC is that you can make more money through the higher interest but the weaknesses is that you can not access the money until the GIC is finished. This is a very good option to chose is you are not planing on using a large sum of money for a long time. You are not taking the risk of losing your money in stocks but you also don’t have money sitting in the bank at the same value.

Collaboration Reflection

  1. I found that my group worked well together as i already knew someone that was apart of my group from last semester.
  2. I contributed to my group by sharing my knowledge and doing the writing on the whiteboard. One of my group members joined a different group, so it was just two of us in my group he contributed by putting the equations into the calculator.
  3. One of my group members chose this solution, he chose it because it was something we both did not know about so we wanted to learn about something new.
  4. I would give myself a 4/4 because i was the most involved in my group and put the most effort in.
