I currently am volunteering at a senior home every Sunday for 2 hour increments. This has been a very eye opening experience for me, I’m seeing how these residents are getting treated on the inside and seeing how they feel about leaving their homes. Most are not to happy about living there, but a lot enjoy socializing and having people to care for them.

I got my first job 5 months ago, I was a hostess at a restaurant 20 minutes away from my house. It didn’t end up working out because it was too far away and I do not have my drivers licence yet, my mom would drive me back and forth. My hours were late in the evening, which made me exhausted when I had to go to school the day after. I decided it was not a good fit for me and decided to start looking for another job. My moms best friend owns a beauty salon, they do hair, nails, lazer, eyelashes, waxing, tanning etc. She has been looking for someone to, look after the front desk and work the tanning beds the days she can’t be there. She offered me the job for every saturday, It’s only a 7 minute walk from my house. This is great! I work during the day and I enjoy what I am doing.
