Analysis
- How much did you end up spending on your special day?
In the end, I spent $287.85 on the Special Day.
2. What percentage of the total budget did you end up spending?
Since I spent $287.85, the percentage of my total budget would be 95.95%.
287.85/300 x 100 = 95.95%
3. What might you have done differently if you only had a budget of $100?
If my budget was shortened to $100, I would have minimized my purchases and changed an activity to something less expensive. Some examples of limiting the budget include ordering less at dinner or going to a different, cheaper restaurant, buying less at the movies, and/or swapping the high tea with another activity, like extending our walk or stopping at a café, and so on.
4. What might you have done differently if you had a budget of $500?
If my budget was upgraded to $500, I might have taken a more expensive tour, like one in Victoria, Vancouver Island. Also, I would have made more purchases during meals or at Granville Island. Another activity I would do is shopping at a mall and spending some money.
Reflection
- Why did you choose this specific person? Why do you believe they deserve to be celebrated?
I wanted my dad to accompany me on a Special Day because he has done so much for me and my family. Recently, I have learned to appreciate him more as I watch him support his family, now more than ever. This is why I believe my dad should be celebrated, and why I wanted him to have a Special Day.
2. Why did you choose to spend your budget the way you did? What factors went into your decisions?
While creating the itinerary, I took my time to select each activity so the day would be full of things my dad and I liked to do together, like going to the movie theatre or taking walks, or something that we have been doing for a long time, like eating dinner at Po Kong, a restaurant I have been going to since I was young. Considering that my spending was restricted by the $300 budget, I tried my best to limit my purchases and choose cheaper options while also making sure the Special Day was as enjoyable as possible.
