Budgeting girls’ night out

There is something that man would never understand. The joy of getting ready with your girls, looking all snatched and flawless, heading to the fanciest restaurant, sipping on them virgin margaritas and finish it up with the yummiest steak & gossip combo, taking sunset pictures and posting them on your Instagram stories for all of them haters to see. Days like this make you live life slow and enjoyable, look for the details in the smallest moments and romanticize what seems average. Personally, I think this is the best days to experience as a teenage girl. That is how I choose to spend a perfect day, and I chose to spend it with my girl, a sister that is not by blood – Anna. On a warm and sunny Friday in the middle of July.

Itinerary

That’s the perfect plan, for a perfect day with a perfect duo:

2:30 pm – start heading to Coquitlam center

3 pm – meet in Coquitlam Center to go shopping

3:10 pm – get Starbucks & shopping spree

4:30 pm – Anna will drive us to my house and we will get ready.

6:45 pm – reservation in Cactus Club

8:00 pm – start heading downtown

9:30 pm – house party starts

11:30 pm – order uber back home

Budget analysis

How much did you end up spending on your special day?

I have spent $297.88

What percentage of the total budget did you end up spending?

I have spent 99.29% of my budget.

What might you have done differently if you only had a budget of $100?

Honestly most of our perfect girl’s nights don’t require that much money so answering that question didn’t need a lot of effort. If I had only 100 dollars: we wouldn’t go shopping and picked less fancy restaurant to go to or maybe even order delivery, we would still buy snacks but not makeup, buy Starbucks but not matching tops. Instead of uber we would ask one of our friends to pick us up from the house party or Anna would drive because she is in the legal age for driving.

What might you have done differently if you had a budget of $500?

I would plan completely different plan for 500$. I would choose to go for 2 days 1 night trip to either Osoyoos or United States (it was in our mind for quite a while now). $500 would be enough to cover gas, snacks, meals, cheapest motel and would be definitely a trip of our life.

Core Competencies Questions

Why did you choose this specific person? Why do you believe they deserve to be celebrated?

I would celebrate Anna because she always celebrates me. No matter where we go, she always there for me even when she’s on her lowest. She doesn’t judge me but doesn’t lie to me when I do something wrong. She always pays for me and stands up for me when needed. She’s the closest girl I have to me and the most similar to me in this world.

Why did you choose to spend your budget the way you did? How did your values influence your decisions?

I value food a lot and as you can see good drinks and food is essential in my life. It’s just a dose of dopamine for me and the source of energy for the day. I chose Cactus Club from the previous experience of mine. I value romanticizing little moments and connections, as you can see the Starbucks would add a taste to our shopping spree and matching tops would give us similarity without necessarily be twins. I value quality so Walmart, cactus club, uber was my go-to choice.
