There are many examples found within the literature that illustrates the character of Mooch. Mooch is a persevering individual. To begin Mooch is resilient. After witnessing a terrible tragedy ” [he] still walks across the bridge everyday” showing how he won’t sucrose to the same tragedy as his friend. Even though Anna and Mooch both went through a lot of trauma, he walks across that bridge persevering through life. In addition, Mooch is strong. He went through a lot in his past at residential school when he was “put in the basement with the shadows” and he was kept from his family and home. The Shadows would torture him and do things that are unspeakable so for him to get out there alive shows how strong Mooch is. Finally Mooch is a remorseful person. As Floyd an Anna’s kid comes to visit and Mooch see’s Christine, he mistakes her for Anna “grabbing on to her arm, [he] won’t let go” just like he wishes he never let Anna go at the bridge. He feels guilt for not stopping her and Floyd’s daughter, who looks so much like Anna gave him a chance to do what he wishes he had done. To conclude, it is evident from the examples provided that Mooch is a determined individual, who pushes through all the hardship in his life.
