My First Year

My grade 9 year

The year has been fulfilling and educational. I learned that I work best when I am very well prepared and have clear goals. I even liked working on project related activities that allowed me to be creative and connect with other people. One of the assignments that I was able to overcome was getting a good balance between play and school. I achieved some goals, like improving on my listening skills. I learned that I best learn by doing things myself and when I am having trouble, I break things down into steps. I’m most proud of how I’ve learned to review my work before handing it in.

I wanted to share this video because this video taught me an easier ways to study and get better grade. It shows different methods to study like for example, like batching your tasks, minimizing number of transitions and giving yourself constraints.

I can now clearly understand how the Scientific method Process works after building our egg dropper challenge and the golf tower challenge. The reason why I got to learn how to use the scientific method is because we used the inductive and deductive learning. The inductive learning helped me learn how to observe and how to identify the patterns. The deductive learning helped me learn how to test the hypothesis and how to predict the logical reasoning on that experiment. For example when we did the golf tower challenge we observed how we can make the tower bigger and holds the golf tower. And most of us had a similar theory or a general knowledge that when building a tower more structure on the bottom gives mores support and gives you higher chances to make the tower more stable so that the tower holds the golf ball.

It’s important to celebrate our accomplishments. Which SCIENTIFIC METHOD LAB are you the most proud of and why?

For me I felt like I was proud on building the golf ball tower challenge. Me and my partner worked hard thinking how we can make the tower tall but also stable. When it was the building day we built a tall and supported tower. It was somewhat stable but our beam kept on falling so we used a newspaper to wrap around the tower. But with that hard and focused work ethic helped us managed to get 3rd in our class. So this is why I was most proud of building the golf ball tower.

What strategies did you use to overcome those challenges? Describe in detail.

When we first made the prototype before building our golf ball tower challenge we realized we used lot of tape in those unnecessary spots that we didn’t really needed to put tape on. So when it was the building day we tried our best to use tiniest amount of materials so that we don’t run out of our materials for the golf tower challenge.

Describe your experience with understanding of the Scientific Method doing the 2 labs?

Before doing those two labs I wasn’t too sure how to write a hypothesis or how to identify the problem in an experiment. But that all changed when we started working on our labs. The labs made me confident on how to write a clear and correct hypothesis using the if and than statement and it also helped me on how I can identify the problem in an experiment.

A) I demonstrated that I can create new things when I start critical thinking. The critical thinking strategies helped me how I can create new things while I am doing my work this way I could keep improving on my school work.

B) I demonstrated that I can build on the ideas of others when I start to listen to everyone’s ideas before sharing mine. That way we could put all the ideas together and we could have a vote on which idea is the best for that work.

C) When trying new things, I expect setbacks and failure and use them to develop my ideas. An example of this from the Scientific Method labs would be when our golf ball tower wasn’t stable enough to hold on to the golf ball and when I our egg drop challenge failed to protect the egg and splated on the ground.

Curricular Response

Next time I write a poem, I will focus on making my sentences sound more natural. I need to work on how my sentences connect and fix some of my grammar issues. However I’m still happy with some parts of my writing, especially how decent my rhyming sentences are. My rhyming skills are decent, and now I can make sure to make my writing smoother. And I will do my best to maintain my rhyme sentences.

It really depends what the assignment is when I receive an assignment I usually read the Rubric of the assignment but in this class I don’t find assignments really hard. I find assignments like Know and wonder sheet (from long time ago) easier than any other assignments because I can read it and write down what I got from the book. And The teacher always go over after a decent amount of work time. This makes the Know and wonder sheet assignment easier to do. However like I said in the Curricular Response I need to work with the smoothness of my sentences.

What core competencies did you demonstrate with the Blender Food Assignment?

I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others. similar to how I prepared my chips. I tried a lot of different methods when I was preparing my chips, and I wanted to make the chips Without following the tutorials.

I can represent my learning and tell how it connects to my experiences. The foods i made for the blender food assignment was inspired with my favorite dessert, my favorite fruit, and my favorite chips which is lays.

I understand that learning is continuous, and my identity will continue to evolve. In order to improvement my food blender assignment I will try new tools we haven’t learned, and I will experiment with them.

Persuasion and Advertising Learning Reflection

a. Which advertising technique did you choose and how did you use that technique to create your poster?

I chose the “special offer” marketing for my project because I think it’s the most effective technique to sell soccer jerseys. There are more than 5 billion soccer fans worldwide, and each one needs a jersey to show support for their team. And I used the “Card Staking” marketing method, which tells the audience that the quality of the jersey is way higher than the others.

b. Explain how and why you chose the colors, words, background, etc. that you used to make your advertisement.

There are lots and lots of different colors in my advertisement it looks colorful, and every color represents their favorite team. And I used the blue and normal border text too make the text more stand out. And of course, I used the jersey backgrounds because I am selling soccer jerseys.

c. What do you think others who aren’t in your class should know about advertising?

Getting to know all the marketing strategy for each product. That will be the most effective way to sell their own product.

Core Competency Reflection

I used to think marketing was really simple and I thought there was only one or 2 main marketing strategy about advertisement and now I know there are lots of different marketing strategies to sell a simple product because the “Persuasion and advertising” power point taught me many different marketing strategies I can use in the future.

One strategy or activity that stimulated my imagination on this project was to think what I like, and for me I love soccer I play the sport every day. And that gave me an idea to sell soccer jerseys to many of the fans who watch soccer.

What core competencies did you demonstrate with the Me In Layers Assignment?

I used the thinking strategy, I gave a lot of thought to the different equipment that I needed both for training and playing soccer. These included very important things like cones, which mark out areas of the field for drills and practice sessions. I have also used training nets, which assist in honing shooting accuracy and catching techniques. I have also added free kick walls in trying to emulate real-game plays where the players must practice their free kicks against some kind of barrier. Of course, varied soccer balls were a necessity since they constitute the principal tool to be used for all activities in the sport.

While using all these tools in photoshop, I wanted to add details to all the objects I added in the “me layers assignment” I added some special elements to the work to give more realistic vibes; cloned images of birds flying around the training area, for example. A lightning enhancer that could increase and make better light effects, so that it would make sure different equipment could be more shown. Besides, I also used some drop shadow effects to make every equipment detailed. The combination of all the equipment I thought of and creative enhancements was pretty much needed for my “me layers assignment”.

A) How did the use of AI assist you in developing this project 

Neither me or my partner used the copilot ai assist but I think we all learned how to use it properly as an educational purposes

B) How did you ensure that the work you created was still your own, rather than just a product of the AI 

Me and my partner didn’t use ai for any of our work except the copilot part but we made sure we source everything we used off of the website

C) Did you agree with the position you had to argue? Why or why not?

yes I felt like con was the right way to solve the revolution and my partner couldn’t care less to choose the pro side

Core Competency Reflection

When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I’ll always make an effort to get in touch with the others in order to cooperate with them, and I’ll do everything in my capability to support the new individuals I met, which will benefit us all individually.

One of the ways I ensure my group is clear on the common purpose is to Constantly communicate until we finally reach a common purpose. This process may be a little stressful at first, but after we meet up with a common purpose than we can become more motivated and experience less stress.
