Domain & Range

The Domain of this graph is x is smaller or equal to -3 which means the x value starts from -3 and goes lower : X≤-3. The Range of this graph is All real #s.

Domain is the first value in a relation (the x-value). The domain of a function is the set of values that we are allowed to plug into our function.

Range is the second value in a relation( the y-value). The range of a function is the set of values that the function assumes.

This graph is not a function because it doesn’t pass the vertical line test. A function will never touch a vertical line more than once. Which means the domain is repeated more than once.

Self-Assessment

  1. I explained domain & range in two different ways.
  2. I used mathematical terms such as function, values, domain, range, and vertical line.
  3. I put images above the paragraph related to it so it would make more sense.
