Why Japanese?

Inspiration

When I first looked at all of the available courses for grade 9 at Centennial, I realized I wanted to try something different. I was interested in trying to learn Japanese because it was a unique opportunity and it is very different from other languages such as French and Spanish. Another reason is I have always found Japanese culture interesting and I want to learn more about it.

Goals

My goal by the end of the semester is to be able to understand basic Japanese dialogue used in conversation. I would also like to learn how to read basic written sentences. I would also like to be able to say basic sentences with my friends by the end of the Semester.

Staying Motivated

To stay motivated during my time in Japanese 9 I will look back and track my progression to see my improvement. This is a good strategy to use because it helps myself see what I have accomplished and this will make me feel like I am getting somewhere. If I find myself struggling in class I will reach out to my teachers and peers to see if they can help me
