Staying Safe With Instagram.
Instagram is a big and fun social media app but that also comes with dangers. For example, Instagram doesn’t have an age verification, meaning that children of all ages can access and make an account. Being safe on the internet is essential because depending on what you post it could create false claims about you or another person. It can also ruin you or someone else’s reputation if you post something that is not appropriate.
Some unsafe practices while being on Instagram can be posting where you are on your story or posts. this feature makes it easy for random people and even strangers to view your location if not careful. Another thing to be aware of while on Instagram is what you search. Some things people post can be explicit and inappropriate, which means if you intend to search one thing up you might see a result that’s totally different.
A way you can stay safe on Instagram is by making your account private. By making your account private no one can see what you post or what you put on your story unless you accept their follow request. Another way of staying safe is by not linking your phone number to your account. When you link your phone number to an account that means that anyone that has your phone number can find your account. Lastly, make sure to not post anything you’ll regret. Posting online is risky because there are so many things to be cautious about, even if you delete something it is always going to be there.

Staying Safe with Snapchat.
Snapchat is a fun and social app where you can add new people or people you already know. you get to send snaps to your friends. Snapchat can be a fun way to communicate with each other but always be cautious about what snaps you are sending etc. Posting something you regret can give you or someone else a bad reputation.
Snapchat is a very big social media app and they are relatively safe but there are some things you should always be cautious about, such as Snapchat’s “snap map.”If you turn your location on Snapchat’s Snapmap show people where you are. The Snapmap can be very dangerous because you can forget that your location is on and people will know where you are. Another thing to be cautious about while on Snapchat is to make sure you don’t post anything you will regret. Posting something on your story means people you have added can see and screenshot it. You also want to beware about who adds you on “Quick Add” quick add is something where your friends or a stranger can add you. Always be cautious about who adds you because you might not know who they are.
Ways to stay safe on Snapchat is to make sure you don’t turn on your location unless you want someone to know where you are. Before posting something on your story you should think about if it will make an impact on you or someone else. One way to be safe when someone adds you on quick add is to not add any strangers. If you want to get rid of their request you can delete it.

Staying Safe on Twitter.
Twitter is a fun app where you can tweet whatever you’d like. You can like other people’s tweets and even retweet them. Of course, Twitter has some safety issues that people should be aware of before getting the app.
Twitter is a big social media platform which means people of age or younger want to make an account to see what it is all about. The problem is kids can easily lie about their age when creating an account. Being young on a social media platform can be dangerous and you could post something you would regret in the future. Posting on Twitter on a public profile means it is going to be seen by the public and people could screenshot or screen record what you posted. This means that whatever you post online will always be there even if you delete it.
The best way to stay safe on Twitter is to not post anything on a public account. Be cautious even posting on a private account because people you have accepted can see what you post. Don’t post anything you will regret and never accept anyone you do not know.

Personal/Social Competency Reflection
1. I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, including posting things I might regret in the future so I adjust my actions to double-check to see if it is harmful in any way. Before posting anything online I am going to check if this will make a negative impact on my life or someone else’s. Not posting unnecessary stuff on the internet. Making sure that my digital footprint doesn’t have any personal information about myself. In the future, I don’t want people to search for my name and find photos of me, my family or my friends. Not posting anything harmful is how I am going to keep my digital footprint secure and safe.
2. My online support network teachers TEAMS pages, is helpful to me because they help me understand work if i miss a day. The assignments on teams help me because i can always just check what assignments i have and look at the description on what to do. Teams is so helpful to me because everything on there is online and i don’t have to carry a bunch of textbooks or make physical notes. All of it is online or on teams. The files on teams all have the assignments i need. Teams reassures me because if i miss school then i can make up for it at home.
3. Some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are by keeping up with what they’re doing and relating. When i make friends i want it to be able to keep the friendship and make it stronger. The best way for me to maintain friendships is to talk in real life or over the phone with them. This could be starting a conversation in the halls or in class over the phone. I like talking about things we are both interested in. Making friends is really important to me but keeping them is a lot more because if i make all the effort and they don’t then its not a friendship i want to keep.
