Spanish 10 Core Competency Self-Assessment

My unit 5 conversation

  1. I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others. This is what the assignment was, using my ideas to make a conversation. If I were running out of ideas, I would ask my partner, and she would generate new ideas for our project.

2. I can work with others to achieve a goal. I was able to work with my partner to produce and finish the conversation with decent marks.

3. I can reflect on my thinking. There was only so much we could write for our conversation with our limited Spanish abilities, especially because there was a list of requirements the conversation needed to meet. If we thought of an idea that we couldn’t write in Spanish, we had to alter or change it altogether so we could incorporate it into the assignment.

My Spanish writing experience

Every conversation I’ve ever written was a little bit challenging. There was always a list of requirements I had to incorporate into my conversations without much Spanish knowledge. This is my second year into Spanish, and I think it’s going pretty well, though writing engaging paragraphs is still somewhat challenging. If I were to write an English conversation, that would undoubtably be easier since I have learned the language all my life. I’m sure it wouldn’t be a complete breeze in the park because there would probably also be requirements, however, I would know how to put whatever came to my mind into words. I also like to read so my English writing skills is by far better than Spanish.
