Core competencies Reflection

  • Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in how I communicated with my team to create the poster and practice for presenting it to the teacher. We did our jobs well because of the communication between us that let us know exactly what we were responsible for during the creation and the presentation.
  • I show others that I truly value their contributions by listening to all of their ideas and making suggestions if I feel that the suggestion needs some tweaking. I also make sure to include their idea so that they feel included and that they have a say in how the project turns out.
  • One goal that I have in this class is to make sure that I study constantly so that I can understand all the vocab, rules, and exceptions that riddle the French language. I would like to grow in the collaboration competency so that When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well I can get over my fears and work well with them.

Chemistry 12 core competencies

Artifact

My artifact is the lab 20C. which was a lab in which we titrated HCl in an attempt to find it’s molarity (concentration). In this lab I demonstrated Critical thinking when we had to problem solve and find out how to get the trials in the lab to go well. (we were having trouble getting the right amount of base in the acid to titrate it). We had to change our methods and ere on the side of caution in order to do this lab correctly.

Core competencies

I can analyze evidence to make judgements. I showed that I can analyze evidence and make sound judgements during the analysis of the lab where I determined what happened during the lab based on my results and the information given to me.

I remain open minded as I explore viable options or alternative approaches, like when we were adding to much base to quickly to the HCl and were over doing it. After we had over done a few trials we switched our approach and were able to quickly complete the last trials successfully.
