Flame Lab Test
I used the core competency communication ( I can work with others to achieve a goal) in my flame test lab. I used this competency to work with my partner to successfully complete this lab and the worksheet we also had to complete. Therefore I worked with others to achieve the goal of this science lab. During this activity I learnt the skill of being able to identify what types of liquids change the color of fire once held above a flame. One area I would like to grow in is my ability to ask questions as during this lab I didn’t ask many questions I had trouble answering myself.
I can form new ideas to create new things. I chose this one because I demonstrated this when I used my ideas to create a character that represents me. I also expanded on these ideas to add smaller details which made an impact to create a more detailed character.
I work with others to achieve a goal. I chose this one because I worked with my friend to complete this project. I helped my friend by giving him ideas to complete this project and he helped me to complete it too.
I can identify and describe my qualities. I chose this one as I described my qualities by writing about them in my project in a paragraph. I identified my qualities by thinking about things I have done in the past which would reflect om who I am and be a good quality.
I can tell what is important to me and I can explain my values. I chose this because I showed what was important to me by writing about myself and what I feel is important. I can also explained my values when writing about them in my paragraph.
The main cause of stress in my life is homework. This stresses me out because I am quite active and I have other activities I like to do in my free time. I can demonstrate self-regulation and use coping strategies for stress such as when I have homework I make a plan of when I’m going to work on it. I do this because I need to fit in time for my other activities. I’m personally aware of when I’m stressed and anxious so i know when and how to cope with this.
The use of digital devices barely affect my stress and anxiety levels. When I’m on my digital devices it allows me to unwind after a long day at school. But if I’m on my digital devices too long it affects my anxiety as I feel I’m wasting time on screens when I could’ve been doing something productive. I can make decisions and take steps to support my well-being, including a healthy and balanced lifestyle with my device time by setting limits on my devices for how much time I can spend on them. I do this so I don’t overuse my digital devices and keep my stress and anxiety levels down. This means I’m personally aware of how much time I spend on my digital devices.
This year I enjoyed most of my classes but my most memorable ones are metal work and foods. I had a great time in metal class building cool projects, learning how to weld and being with my friends. Food studies was especially fun due to the fact I don’t really know how to cook but learning and improving made it amazing. This year I learnt that punctuation is key and just showing up to class can really develop your learning and social skills. My grade 9 year has been an exciting, fun but also nervous first year to my journey through high school.
I chose this website because it drastically improved my soccer skills and physical health. This website is a great way to improve new soccer players skills such as myself. It is very clear and includes pictures to show you how to do a trick or skill your stuck on.
I connected with this video at school when my friend showed me this to help me improve my skiing skills. This video aided my learning because it is a really in depth video on how to improve ones ski skills. I chose to share this video because I believe that it could help other new skiers learn their next steps to ski.

I chose to share this image because I found it really helpful when learning about chemicals. I connected with this photo in school when doing the chemicals unit in science. It really helped me in science as it’s very clear and has a lot of information about the atomic numbers, average atomic mass and the symbols for the elements.

Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen throughout the whole of my presentation because I rehearsed and memorized my presentation so I could look at my audience while presenting.
Evidence that I can acquire information about complex and specialized topics from various sources, synthesize it, and present it with thoughtful analysis can be found in my slides because I searched the internet for information to import into my slides to create a complex and specialized presentation to present it with thoughtful analysis.
One thing i could work on is selecting images and words to create impact for different audiences. One way I could do this is practice by creating a presentation for a different age groups and make it relevant to them. I will do this be selecting images and words to create an impact for a different audience.
I chose the bandwagon technique to create my poster by writing “Everyone’s Got One. So Why Don’t You?”. This sentence was supposed to persuade people to buy this toy car by quoting that everyone has one so that the viewer feels the need to get one themselves so that they fit in. The second technique I chose was the Special Offer technique. I implemented this by writing “Limited edition” to try and persuade the viewer that they had a limited time to purchase this item. I chose the blue colour for my writing because it compliments the car and its colour. I used these words to try and persuade the viewer to by the product by using the bandwagon technique and the special offer technique. I used a nice wooden back round so that so that the advertisement is easy to read and it compliments the car. Others who aren’t in my class should know that advertisements trick you into buying the product. If you ever see an advertisement for something you should know that its probably tricking you into buying something you’ll regret by using different techniques to trick you.
Core Competency Reflection
One strategy or activity that stimulated my imagination on this project was when I made the picture. I had to use my imagination to imagen what I wanted my picture to look like using the AI feature on Canva.
This is how I selected images and words to create impact for my planned audience: I used bright colors that jumped at the viewer for my image; I used an advertisement technique for my words that would persuade the viewer to buy my product.
At the end of my special day i ended up spending $208.72. The percentage of my total budget that I spent was 69.59%. If I only had a budget of $100 then i would have spent less on the activities of the day and i would have spent less on the food that i brought to better suit my budget. If i had a budget of $500 then i would have spent more money on the activities or i would have done more expensive activities. I also would have gone to fancier places to eat.
Reflection:
I chose this person because he is my friend and he deserves to be celebrated because he is a good friend. I chose to spend my budget this way because I spent it on the items that my friend likes and what I thought he would enjoy doing.
Is Violence Justified During A Protest Or Revolution
The use of Ai assisted me in this project because it gave me ideas to complete the documents.
I ensured the work I created was still my own and not a product of AI by tweaking some of its ideas and putting down in the documents where i have used AI.
I disagreed with my position i had to argue because i feel violence gets the idea of the revolution across quicker than without violence.

Personal/social competency reflection
My online support network is helpful to me because they can guide me in my projects or home work.. For example I used the website my teams ADL told me to use which showed my works cited and helped me to avoid plagiarism. Some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are saying only positive things online. I have demonstrated this through my assignment by using positive websites online. I make digital ethical choices such as considering commenting of others post in order to maintain a positive digital foot-print. I have demonstrated this in my assignment by learning to consider commenting on others posts by looking at an educational website.

It is important to maintain a positive digital foot-print and here are some reasons why. One way a teenager can maintain a positive digital foot-print is they can share their experiences, challenges, and concerns about their digital foot-print. It is important to maintain a positive digital foot-print as some of things you do online can affect your educational prospects such as getting into colleges and university’s. Although social media and technology can be good thing there are some harmful aspects of it. Some examples I have researched is that social media can cause anxiety, isolation and depression. To prevent this you can set a time limit on the social media apps you use daily such as Tik Tok, Instagram, Snapchat excerpta. Because of the many cons of technology in a teenagers i will explain a few ways teenagers can use technology safely and positively. One way to use technology safely is to view appropriate and educational sites online and on social media. One way teenagers can use technology positively is to talk to their friends online when unable to see each other in person. In conclusion it is important to keep a positive digital foot-print as it can affect yourself and others.
