
PHE Core Competency Reflection
The main cause of stress in my life is homework. This stresses me out because I am quite active and I have other activities I like to do in my free time. I can demonstrate self-regulation and use coping strategies for stress such as when I have homework I make a plan of when I’m going to work on it. I do this because I need to fit in time for my other activities. I’m personally aware of when I’m stressed and anxious so i know when and how to cope with this.
The use of digital devices barely affect my stress and anxiety levels. When I’m on my digital devices it allows me to unwind after a long day at school. But if I’m on my digital devices too long it affects my anxiety as I feel I’m wasting time on screens when I could’ve been doing something productive. I can make decisions and take steps to support my well-being, including a healthy and balanced lifestyle with my device time by setting limits on my devices for how much time I can spend on them. I do this so I don’t overuse my digital devices and keep my stress and anxiety levels down. This means I’m personally aware of how much time I spend on my digital devices.
