Creating a Positive and Safe Digital Footprint

The internet can be a dangerous place and it is lots of very bad stuff happens on the internet such as bullying, and that bullying can lead to depression or worse. Some things you can do to prevent this is to not use your name, not showing your face and blocking people that you think might do this. You also shouldn’t show your location, tag your location or tell people your address the reason you shouldn’t do this is because bad people might find your location and do bad things such as stalking and another reason why you shouldn’t show people your address is because a thing called swatting where people call the police to your house and say that you’re doing something very bad and this can lead to a lot of bad things such as people dying. There are also more bad things that can happen such as future jobs looking through your social media and finding everything you have ever posted or even things other people have posted about you/with you. Some ways you can prevent this happening I don’t post dumb things such as drinking and partying, not posting your name, location and not showing your full surroundings so people can’t find where you are.

Personal/Social Competency Reflection
I know my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences including losing job opportunities so i make sure not to post anything that might cause that online.
I make digital ethical choices such as thinking before i post a comment on another persons post because it might be rude.
some of the ways i work to build online relationships are being nice online such as just not saying rude things or saying something nice
