Chicken Tenders + Caesar Salad

Making and Sharing Reflection

Some equipment Used in the making of this recipe was a kitchen knife to cut into 2 bite sized cubes, a metal spatula to stir, a grater for the cheese used in the salad, and a cast iron pan freshly oiled. A technology used in this recipe was a stove top to cook the chicken. Some ingredients used were chicken breasts, barbeque sauce, bread crumbs, lettuce and salad dressing. We used the rolling and dipping method in which we dipped barbeque sauce to get a better flavor and rolled into bread crumbs which stick to the barbeque sauce. We used Knife skills where we cut the chicken into thick chunks and tossing skills for the croutons and dressing to fully coat the lettuce. Finally, Grating skills were used for the cheese used in the lettuce dressing.

The sharing process in our group depends on how hungry or the amount of food they can eat comfortably with no too little or too much. These factors help equally share the food across our table partners. To critically evaluate the success on this lab, We did particularly with different mixes of independent and dependent work which includes one making chicken and the other one making the salad while also supporting each other when needed. and proper clean up using teamwork.

Core Competency Reflection

While working in the kitchen, I help to build and extend understanding by double checking with the group during the explanation of the recipe right before making it so we can ask question or confirm and when that is done, we usually make jobs for each other like who is doing the dishes or doing a specific of the recipe like the chicken or salad making in this recipe.

I know the group is working well together when I hear/see well communication with minimal distractions between group and no side chatter with friends they know which can drag time and efficiency in the group. No Distraction on phone is seen and all focused on their dependent jobs with support being carried though the group from time to time.

When I need to work collaboratively with people I don’t know well, I tend to have trouble which is a goal I am working on this year. Sometimes it doesn’t bother me at all but when it comes to people I do not know most of the time, I avoid important communication which leads to mistakes which is the reason I want to be more open with people I do not know.

Core Competency Reflection

· Examples of where I communicate clearly and purposefully can be seen in numerous partner works like the indigenous story telling assignment where I got to communicate and adjust our plans and voices during our recording process. Other examples can include, Mr Cowie’s demonstration of well communication and bonds between tribes or in this case other students to trade items to hunker down for the long harsh winters in Canada. We all communicated purposefully for the correct amounts of items and asked for given items.

· Some of the ways I work to build and maintain school relationships include being respectful and kind to both classmates and teachers, offering help when someone is struggling, and trying to include others in group work or activities. I make an effort to listen carefully and share my thoughts clearly. I also try to contribute to my fullest ability to group works or any sort of activities.

· Some work habits that worked well for me this semester in Social Studies 9 was to plan out a time sheet sort where if many homework was given to even a test, I would think and include equal times to both studying and homework. If I was to be busy like personal plans, I would try and fit in other days like after dinner or during flex time to not create an surplus amount of homework while having full knowledge in tests. Another habit was to not be distracted easily which was a common problem for me in Past semester and middle school years in which I create limits on when to talk to my friends or desk partner.

· Some ways that I can improve my work habits for next year in Social Studies 10 is to focus on the Teacher and participate more like raising my hands. Sometimes when the teacher is looking, I can easily doze off or not participate during questions from the teacher. Next year I would like to give my fullest attention and raise my hands during lessons.

Budgeting for a Special Day

I’m preparing a special day for my dad and spending my $300 dollars for. It will be during winter break where we enjoy skiing either in Seymour or cypress where we usually buy season tickets early on so we can freely ski whenever we want. Where he taught he how to ski in the first place which is why it is special for me and made many memories with him.

6:30 AM – Wake up and get ready for a full day of skiing and quality time.

6:50 AM – Head out to grab breakfast and shop for things

7:10 AM – Eat breakfast at McDonald’s

7:40 AM – Finish up and drive to Seymour Mountain

8:30 AM – Arrive at the ski lodge. Since we already have gear and season passes, we head straight to the slopes.

9:00 AM – Start skiing, Enjoy the mountain together, trying different runs and stopping for some pictures.

1:00 PM – Break for lunch at the lodge: grab a hot meal like burgers, fries, and drinks.

2:00 PM – Back to skiing for the afternoon.

4:30 PM – Finish skiing, pack up, and head out.

5:00 PM – Stop by the supermarket to pick up movie night snacks: candy, popcorn, and drinks.

5:45 PM – Eat out at Coquitlam Grill and buy a gift card

6:40 PM – Gifts bought at Canadian Tire

6:40 PM – Arrive home, get comfy, and set up for a movie night with dad’s favorite movies.

8:50 PM – Finish the movie and wind down the night.

YouTube Movie – Gladiator 2$10.993.63%https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NICkDxb9IU0

I managed to spend $295.08 almost passing the budget with $4.92 to spare. In percentage it is 98.03% nearly reaching 100 but 1.97% to spare thankfully.

If my budget was to be 100 dollars only, I would have cut off the movie only choosing from my Netflix account and especially choosing cheaper options like the Mcvalue meal from McDonald’s but the lodge lunch will have to do since it is the closest restaurant there is and it is quite expensive. Especially taking the gourmet things off buying the hot chocolate from the cafeteria instead and choosing smaller meals or shareables for the Coquitlam Grill.

If the Budget was to be $500, I would buy a lot more snacks for the movie night with luxurious chocolates or gift packages which rack up to 70 dollars. Or going to an actual theatre to watch the movie night since it pretty much is the expensive option. Lastly, a bigger gift should be bought with the money like an expensive watch or perfume he can use often.

I chose my Dad because he is a lot more active an free in plans like this and since skiing and going out is his favorite, I figured that it is the best option to choose him. I believe my Mom helped me grow up and take care of me which is hard work but my Dad shown me the fun parts of the world like skiing or restaurants which were some nice memories I would like to revive.

The way I spent my budget can seem a bit tight since I am not the biggest spender around but If I were to, I usually buy higher end stuff and go big on gift cards which is just a reliable and simple gift I usually choose. My values influenced my decisions by putting the main stuff into the lower priority and dumped more money more on the before and after decisions which I figured to be the better way in my opinion.

Is Violence Justified During a revolution or protest?

Ai assisted me by giving answers to questions which is harder to find on google especially with credit to the original. It especially assisted me for the examples part since I can enter specific prompts and get specific answers.

I can ensure Ai does not do all my work by using my own words with inspired content only being added as subjects to my own work. Or only use Ai as a starting point as a draft or an way to adjust or revise my own ideas in my own words.

Finally, I agree with the position I am in since as the quote says violent is not the answer, especially with the innocent deaths which can happen and even more which can break out of future protests or wars that happen between the government and civilians.

Core Competency Reflection

I compile and synthesize information to draw reasoned conclusions, such as when a list of wars that came from protests was made and my job to choose the best examples but some examples sometimes support the violent side like the French revolution whilst the big consequences like the reign of terror gave France a new life with the monarchy gone and the executions being halted.

My strategies for collecting relevant information for specific tasks include comparing other examples to see what the differences similarities and if it really is going to make an difference or support my point in my argument for the best conclusion.

My First Year

My Grade 9 Year

This Year I enjoyed the freedom of the open campus style in the school which I got to go to the nearby seven eleven or just hangout down the street with some kids I know. My old school had stricter rules and a closed campus so no wandering to some place and was always on one classroom and moved together. This year I managed to reach the goal of improving my English marks for my first semester since it wasn’t in the best shape when I reached my half way update. But a Goal I did not reach this year was to commit myself more to the class usually by raising up my hand but I keep forgetting about that goal even though it is easy to get started on. Maybe coming up with questions during worksheets or videos can help.

A Useful Educational Website

https://www.khanacademy.org/science/soe-english/x376703479188fe53:grammar-1-parts-of-speech-the-noun

Sometimes during English I forget simple things like when to use commas and verbs which are simple stuff and Khan academy managed to help me with all the things I forgot or wanted to revise for my English. Secondly Khan academy is also suitable for science learning which also helps me learn or summarize missed classes which I also had for semester one which was a huge bonus.

A Useful Educational Video

Before high school I was at vacation at my home country forgetting a lot of subjects and no confidence on homework and such and this video was the first video I came across helping and even adding a few things like planning ahead and cleaning up messy files which I learnt from this one video I watched.

A Useful Educational Image

Since Science included chemical solutions I had to convert and solve, this one image helped me revise and summarize the periodic table and solutions. Although not much, it solved a big problem of going back to a page given out with lacking information and helped me out through semester one.

A Useful Educational Quote

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.

-Albert Einstein

I made many mistakes like forgetting a formula for science to even misusing grammar in English which really brought me down since most of the kids at my class did not have much issues but when looking through quotes, this one really cheered me on and figured everyone suffered on day one too which made me feel a bit more less sad.

Science 9 – Model Home project

My Project

Core Competency Reflection

I seek, develop and weigh options as demonstrated by working towards the viable and correct option by asking classmates or looking out for differences from my project to theirs and even turning to the teacher to check up the wires and their location. Secondly, rethinking what we have by moving switches and fixing the main switch which we thought was all correct before winter break started. and repeated testing which possibly can burn out a few lights but hidden problems can be sometimes shown which help develop the solution to a working circuit.

If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to find other options which everyone can agree with or change the plan entirely like changing the layout of the circuit for the correct bulbs to light. Secondly reassessing everyone’s problems to see if it is useful to the solution or away from it.

One goal I have for my self is staying resilient like not stopping on hard challenges and keeping a steady work time with my classmates or just personal works. For now, I am having a bit of trouble with overcoming hard challenges sometimes stopping on them mid way and taking long breaks which seem unnecessary.

English 9 Spoken Word: Self Reflection

Curricular Response

This poem reflects on the eraser marks showing the mistakes and the solution using problem fixing skills or the handwriting showing comfortable curves full of confidence and compassion. I will continue relying on the problem fixing skills and the poetic devices thought throughout from head to toe with great imagination and creativness.

Although the poem may be reflecting all the positives, a crack can ruin everything. Without the clear objective of timing and handwriting focusing on the minimum time when we were to present to the class. Secondly many pauses can break when the handwriting can be confusing to look at making awkward pauses.

Core Competency Self Reflection

Completing assignments where you let your imagination free and write for a while to present can be a bit challenging needing to look back for creative ideas like my memories or sounds and sights that stood out in my mind. Specific parts that bring out enjoyment is the final poem reading which sounds beautiful all with symphony or rhythm, but can also bring suggestions to dull spots or mistakes in the handwriting which can all be useful for the final reading in front of the classroom.

ADL Persuasion and Advertising Project

My Advertisement

Persuasion and Advertising Learning Reflection

a. Which advertising technique did you choose and how did you use that technique to create your poster?

I used Persuasion as my main method which I added 20% off and limited offer pressuring the person watching the advertisement. I also added a little bit of name calling to sodas on the top left which I says “tired of your soda going flat while swimming in the beach?” which I also agree, Soda gets flat when I am gone for a bit.

b. Explain how and why you chose the colors, words, background, etc. that you used to make your advertisement.

I added a more beachy look with the background showing the beach and the sun and cactus representing the hot weather and you needing for a fresh cold slushy which is also in sale pressuring the possible customer more.

c. What do you think others who aren’t in your class should know about advertising?

Advertisement has been around for a long time and see no end for it since It gives companies a chance to up their sales or just for looks like the time square which is perfect for bigger companies to advertise the products. In conclusion, Ads can be annoying but can help other companies pay their workers more pay and sales.

Core Competency Reflection

One strategy or activity that stimulated my imagination on this project was by looking alone for other commercials and inspiring me with hundreds of ideas and I decided to give a more retro font and feeling which I found out to be cool and I also put in facts from my troubles as Soda goes flat quite quickly or slushies keep it cool and tasty.

I used to think that they were annoying and trying to get my attention in advertisement and now I know they are far more complicated because as I was doing my research, I found out how much different types of advertisements there are and how difficult and creative you have to be to create an affective advertisement which I safely now say, I now think advertisement is also a way of art and business coming together.
