Technology & Wellbeing Reflection

My way of managing stress is mostly listening to music if I am allowed since it is easy and reliable to do so. Since technology can be a bad influence to your health, I prefer music to calm down the stress instead of being addicted and glued on the screen because of games or apps that can cause distractions which I don’t prefer to join on. For me, this year I succesfully kept my streak of listening to music and keeping away at distractions but some minor changes did happen like installing games and sometimes having the urge to pick up my phone and scroll which I thrive to stay away of. Some educational ways I can use technology are websites like My centennial which I am currently writing on and online educational websites which teachers can easily share and explain things.

Core Comptency Reflection

I find it easy to be part of a group since I am more confident since I am not alone and I can also help others and be inclusive to everyone. Secondly I can easily call for help when I am in a ditch which I cannot get out by myself and even work faster altogether which is efficient. Lastly I can identify how my actions affect the community or environment and I can make positive change like treating everyone just like how I would like to be like respecting one another and doing an extra help to impact the community like holding the door for someone who is in need. Or even donating to charity with some extra cash and picking up litter helping clean the streets.

Personal/Social Competency Reflection:

By helping my friends to keep off risky websites which he tried to use to give information to an unknown websites for some sort of prize which I told him to check with his parents or to check privacy settings if it was safe which was listed as dangerous. We learned a good lesson after that which helped my friend know the difference between safe and risky websites.

I know that my digital footprint which includes Positive and negative consequences including, Plagiarism and Chatgpt for quick and easy answers which is a serious problem many schools deal with while I can Use it properly for research uses like YouTube videos for explanations on math problems or science formula. If I am off school grounds, YouTube videos or other platforms are safe without any deep consequences but using it to use for inappropriate things off of the platform like being an bad influence to the digital community with offensive comments and uploading bad videos to platform with deep consequences or to just cyberbully others who are new or vulnerable.

My values on getting an high grade for secondary school informs my decision of staying on task while working on either school work or homework as Spotify and YouTube tend to be my number one distracting material which can make my hand in time look more closer since most of my time working is just scrolling through social media which can be defeated by making a time planner so I am always on schedule or to just set my phone down or give them to any trusted adults to even installing apps which disable such apps on certain times.
