Through this process, I demonstrated resilience and adaptability, essential qualities for navigating uncertainty and achieving creative solutions.
  2. An area of writing in which I feel confident to develop new ideas is in summarization and analysis. By distilling a complex news article into a concise explanation, I honed my ability to extract key information, prioritize details, and construct a coherent narrative. This project allowed me to deepen my expertise in synthesizing information effectively, showcasing my capacity to develop new ideas within the framework of structured and informative content.

Knife skill^~^

In this class, I have learned and developed new skills, for example, different types and techniques for cutting like Mice, Julienne, Small Dice, Large Dice, Medium Dice, and Rondelle. I have acquired knowledge about food safety, hazard symbols, cleaning, organizing, and synthesizing kitchen areas, and kitchen storage. Also, I am aware of what should I do in an emergency situation.

Why knife skill is an important skill?

_Knife skills are crucial in the culinary world for several reasons. Firstly, they enhance efficiency and speed in food preparation. A skilled chef with precise knife techniques can effortlessly slice, dice, and chop ingredients, saving valuable time in the kitchen. Secondly, proper knife skills ensure consistency in the size and shape of food pieces, leading to evenly cooked dishes and a balanced presentation. Additionally, good knife skills promote safety by reducing the risk of accidents and injuries. With a mastery of knife skills, chefs can navigate through intricate techniques with control and precision, elevating the quality of their culinary creations. Overall, honing knife skills is essential for culinary professionals, offering improved efficiency, consistency, safety, and elevated culinary craftsmanship.

My Parabola:)

The variables a, h, and k have specific meanings and play a crucial role in shaping the parabola.

The value of “a” determines the direction and width of the parabola. In this equation, a is -1/2, which means the parabola opens downwards since “a” is negative. Compared to its parent function (y=x^2), this parabola has a negative coefficient (-1/2) in front of the squared term, so This causes the parabola to be wider than the parent function, due to the “a” that is in between 0 and -1. The width of the parabola is stretched horizontally, resulting in a wider shape.

The value of “h” represents the horizontal shift of the parabola. In this equation, h is 3, indicating that the vertex of the parabola is horizontally shifted 3 units to the right compared to the parent function. It determines the new position of the vertex along the x-axis.

The value of “k” represents the vertical shift of the parabola. In this equation, k is -4, indicating that the vertex of the parabola is vertically shifted 4 units downward compared to the parent function. It determines the new position of the vertex along the y-axis.

Self-Assessment

In this assignment, I represented the same mathematical idea in multiple ways by expressing the equation of a parabola in different forms. The given equation y = -1/2(x-3)^2 – 4 is written in vertex form, which shows the vertex of the parabola at (3, -4) and the coefficient -1/2 indicating that the parabola opens downwards.

The relevant mathematical vocabulary words used to demonstrate understanding include:

– Equation: A statement that two expressions are equal.

– Parabola: A U-shaped curve formed by a quadratic function.

– Vertex: It shows the point where the parabola begins to open.

– Coefficient: A numerical factor multiplying a variable.

To share this information in a clear and organized way, I used bullet points to separate each question and provided numbered responses for each question, also in the Desmos I changed the settings to make it more clear. This formatting helps to visually organize the information and make it easier to read and understand.

Facing challenge

The first time that I tried this problem I found it challenging because I did not know what should I do with the bracket.

The first time that I tried it, I squared everything inside of the brackets.

The strategies that I used to figure it out were: 1- I asked for help from my teacher. 2- I listened carefully to all my teacher’s explanations and tried to learn the solution. 3- I watched YouTube videos about this kind of problem, and I did some problems like this problem, in order to remember everything completely.

The skill that I used to solve this problem correctly was: foiling the squared binomial and combining like terms to solve the rest of the problem.

Next time I encounter a difficult problem, I might use the same strategies to figure out future problems.

🤗✨Personal/social Reflection✨🤗

My 2022/2023 Year^_^

This year was my first year studying in Canada and I learned a lot of skills When I entered school, I often did not understand what my teachers were teaching in class and I used to use transliteration all the time, but now I understand most of what my teachers are saying and I even explain to others, and my use of transliteration is much less. And this shows that I have made good progress I tried new sports this year. Sports like field hockey and frisbee and doing them was fun for me .😃💚

🤍🫐Communication🫐🤍

I have been able to strengthen many of my abilities and skills in science 10. For example, I was able to perform related experiments based on what I learned from the lessons of acids and bases. Also, during this experiment, I learned information. I understood and took notes in a clear and organized way, and in addition, I shared the information I understood and understood with my teammates, and I cooperated with other students, and I was able to strengthen my teamwork skills. I can research and present on topics of interest and topics related to my studies.

“IDS Inquiry Reflection”.

My question was how and with what equipment I can shovel the snow from the ground without human power
Research on change hasn’t changed since I wrote my personal program
I have pretty good time management
I use CENT time weekly to work on my question
I found the website more helpful
At the moment, I don’t have a teacher related to what I want to make, and this is a big challenge for me, and I also don’t have command of the English language, which makes my progress slow. I will change my teacher, and I hope to meet this challenge. overcome a little and I also tried to improve my English
I managed to get good information about my question and my general knowledge has increased
I decide to present what I have learned or planned in the form of a plan
I’m on my way to sharing, I won’t be able to make my final project until the end of May or early June, but maybe I can design it.
I may work on this Inquiry or parts of it for my Capstone next year

Positive Learner Identity-ELL lntermediate📖

•Reading for information🗣️

In this semester in ELL-intermediate , in one of the assignments, we had to read from the text that was uploaded for us in the team and record a video, and we had two opportunities to do this, and after we had to send it, this assignment strengthened my reading. Also, this assignment It made me pay more attention to reading and pronouncing words, and when the reading was over, he would write down the words we had mispronounced and ask us to repeat those words again.

Math 10 FPC self Assessment

By using critical and reflective thinking, I didn’t feel bad about this course and I think I improved throughout the semester. I improved in algebra, trigonometry, and problem solving.
Using awareness and personal responsibility, before starting this course I wanted to learn the lessons in the best way and perform well, and I think I almost reached this goal. I learned a strategy that helped me adjust my homework/study habits. It helps and I realized that if we read the lesson before the teacher teaches, and after the teacher teaches, we do the homework and review the said material again, we will remember the material better. I feel has improved this semester is that I have learned how to study for my exams so that I can get a good grade ,And I can use this method that I learned in my next math lesson
According to my experience and in my opinion, whenever you don’t understand something, don’t be embarrassed and ask the teacher to explain it to you again.

Arts and crafts 11

I can get new ideas or build on or combine other people’s ideas to create new things within the constraints of a form, a problem, or materials.

As you can see in the photo, I got new ideas for making cards, and by combining different designs, imagining and visualizing new ideas in my mind, I was able to create a new idea and design. For example, I made a work that By dragging its sides, we can see the text inside it, and another model I made is that when we open the card, something like a camera lens opens, and you can see an image in it, and in the next card, by dragging The black and white text on the top of the card turns into colored text, and my other card, unlike most cards that are rectangular or square, is in the shape of a triangle, and the inside is full of fragrant flowers and small soft balls, and it also has text inside. There are three dimensions and my ideas are fun and useful for me and my peers and I feel successful.
