Critical and Reflective Thinking

Should our criminal justice system be more punitive or rehabilitative? Why? 

I think that our criminal justice system should be more punitive, our criminal justice system is to sensitive and try’s too hard to rehabilitate, when criminals see that people get released for murder within 25 years they can see that its not compared to like the United States where they have the death punishment. The criminal justice system needs to be more punitive to make society civil so there can be less and less crime each year, also there shouldn’t be any prisons where inmates get to go outside for more that 2 hours a day and there shouldn’t be any things to do, a prison is for you to think about what you have done and not to be friends with other inmates and to play games in a open field. This is why i think we should have a more punitive criminal justice system in Canada.

• If there is disagreement within the group, I find it helpful to… This shows that if a group had lots of group disagreements there is a way for the group to come together and find a new way to get the work done in a more manageable way and to complete the work with no disagreements, I like this because I like to work in groups and often there is problems but with patience and a little bit of effort into trying new ways the group can be more successful.

• Some of the things I do to stay mentally and physically healthy include. Things I like to do are to take time in things I like to do which consist of playing sports, working out, playing video games, all these activities lets me take time off for what is important like schoolwork, so when I come back, I can have a fresh mind set to let me excel in the work quality. 

• Some of the ways I work to build and maintain relationships are… Things that I do consists of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to easily adapt into new things and I like to stay on top of work that I must compete within a timely manner to have personal time and time with others. 

What went well?

Some things that went well for me was that i was really prepared for the hike up Tin Hat mountain, I was able to hike up with all my gear with very minor difficulty. Some things that went well for the class was that we were all able to set up our tents fast while it was raining hard on one of the day.

What challenged me?

Some thing that challenged me was that it got super cold once we got up the mountain and at night. Some thing that i did was i put on extra layers and got warm before going into my sleeping-bag to stay warm during the night.

What is one thing i would pack differently?

One thing i would of done different is that i would use a pack liner in my bag to make my back pack more water proof.

How might we have better prepared for this trip?

Some thing we could of done for this trip is going on more difficult day trips to make our legs more stronger and while going on day trips we could put some weight in our bags to make it more difficult
