Life Saving Measures

During the presentations on CPR and naloxone I learned many things but the 3 main takes aways would have to be, 1st that Naloxone is free for all people in Canada. This makes sense as overdoses had taken lots of people’s life and if someone had got to the person in time and if they used this drug on them, they would have the chance to live again. 2nd takeaway would be that the timing for CPR has changed from 30 beats for 2 minutes to 120 beats a minute for as long as emergency services would arrive, this is a takeaway as if I would ever need to do CPR I would now the new timing to help further the chance of survival for the person. And lastly, after conducting CPR the survival rate is 4 in 10 people, this topic has an impact as it would make me more comfortable giving CPR to someone as I would know that it can only help someone after performing the act. These are the 3 take aways that impacted me most.
