My Self-Portrait.

Every single day we wake up feeling different. Moods and emotions define our day. If you look at a piece of music you’ll notice that we aren’t so unalike. It can describe me so well without saying a word because it’s a part of my life. It tells you how my feelings sound like for instance, when I’m calm and relaxed I like to feel lower pitches and have a slower tempo in my rhythm, like jazz music but, when I’m happy and excited I love to synchronize with an allegro tempo and have a faster rhythm like a pop song. It brings me back to my past and reminds me of my memories, like the joyful and exciting moments that I’ve had with my family like, the first time I saw snow when we first came to Canada from El Salvador when I was 7. All I could think about was the song “walking in a winter wonderland”. Not only does it bring back happy memories but also the sad moments that I’ve had throughout my life. When I moved to Coquitlam from Ottawa about a year ago and had to leave my best friends behind. The song that reminds me of it is ” Back to you” by Selena Gomez because it was my best friend’s favourite song and she would always play it. It’s my voice, it can be soft at times but, also artistic and dramatic when my pitch changes and it transports me to my memories like a time machine. My life is music, and every tune and rhythm is up to me.

Reflection

Something innovative about my visual representation is that I made my pictures be one of the notes on the music staff instead of just laying them out anywhere. I generated my ideas by thinking about what connects me to music and the important events that have happened throughout my life. What I enjoy about my visual representation is that somethings are placed on a sequence and it tells you kind of like a story about my life. Next time I could improve by searching for more descriptive pictures that reflect on my personality better. What I learned about my creative ability is that I can do a lot of things even with limited sources.
