The Writing Process

Since this was a story I grew up with, understanding and fully comprehending the interview was unchallenging. Therefore, there weren’t moments where I was puzzled. But it felt unusual listening to my mom’s story again. Everything felt more emotional and upsetting than before. Likely because the last time I’ve heard her story was years ago. Writing this essay made me realize how blessed I am to have her by my side. And how every step of the way, completing this assignment made me acknowledge more of my mom.

Core Competency Reflection

As an active listener, I notice how… I form a conversation by relating to their topic. When I can’t find a way to relate to them, I would nod a long and keep my eye contact with them to show I’m focused.

I used to think… skipping few steps to complete an assignment was okay. But now, I know skipping steps can miss important keys or information. Because after completing my recent assignments, I noticed how every steps plays a role.

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I… tend to stop what I was working on, and listen to music for relaxation. Or seek help from a friend to notify me when I start procrastinating.

Some skills I have developed to make my creative activities better are… creating mind maps, listing my ideas to keep it organize, or sketching it out in my sketch book.
