My Digital Footprint

Positive Digital Footprint Example: Control of Identity

I am using control of identity on my digital footprint as I am making sure there is no information about me at all on the internet. This can be both positive or negative but I believe the pros outweigh the cons. While I let anybody on Instagram follow me and have my real name in my profile, I don’t post anything on my profile so that nobody anonymous knows how I look or learns anything else about me.

How might your existing digital footprint affect your job and career prospects and post-secondary school applications?

My digital footprint would have no effect on my job and career prospects or my post secondary school applications as it is very minuscule. If one were to google my name, there would be no results relating to me. If one were to look for my social media, they would find that I mainly use Instagram and even then, I have no posts and the only information disclosed would be my name. When it comes to leaving comments on posts, I always consider the possibility of somebody I am close to coming across it so I make sure I don’t comment the wrong things.

Innovation Timeline

Reflection:

A. How do I know the information I gathered was reliable? When researching, I looked at the about us pages of each site or looked up each site on google to make sure it was reliable.

B. How did I choose my medium to display my learning? Was it geared towards my audience and criteria?

I originally chose my medium for presenting my project as I usually use PowerPoint for presenting, so I wanted to extend my horizons and try some new programs. I geared my project to fit with the aesthetic of the time, having it look like it was written on an old document.

C. Were you satisfied with the result of your design?

I’m really happy with how my timeline turned out, I think the text and the pictures go together really well and I didnt have many problems fitting the text in. I think my project looks really good for what I’m trying to present.

D. How would you refine your assignment in the future?

I would find a way to simplify what im saying into fewer points so that I would have more space to put in pictures

Revolution Timeline

Reflection:

a. It was easy for me to identify the problem with railroads. I found a useful source which gave me the information I needed. It was presented in a clear and easy to understand way.

b. Knowing how railroads worked today, I was able to identify the similarities and differences between the 19th century railroad and modern railroad and what was changed in order to make the railroad more functional. The backwards design helped me to dream for a future rail prototype through the already existing maglevs which gave me inspiration for my prototype.

c. I am satisfied with my design. I put a good amount of effort into drawing a design for a possible future rail and explaining how it works and I believe it paid off.

d. I would refine my assignment by planning out my time better and balancing my project workload between the innovation and my 4’s rather then focusing on just the 4’s and then the innovation.
