Core Competency self assessment

Critical and reflective thinking

Cabin Project

For this project I used critical and reflective thinking to build the cabin and problem solve with building it. I was able to reflect on my thinking when I was building the tree like what was the best way to do it and think about all my options. I was able to think of new ideas to create new things to add to my cabin project. Like some examples where I built some idea where when I was making a 3d tree and a 2d boat and fish and a girl named Cheyenne made me bushes and a floor mat that says live laugh love for some reason.

Social Studies 11 Mid-Term Assessment

Core Competency

curricular competency

My strengths in inquiry for this project were researching. I researched a lot in this project to gather information and figure out what things meant. like I used google and a bunch of websites to find information and learn more about Jean Augustine. I researched a lot on what PC CM OOnt CBE meant because never seen it before and didn’t know what it means but after I did research on it I found out what it meant.

core competency

My core competency is communicating because in assignments and project I am able to communicate about what I am doing like in the project I did about Jean Augustine I can understand and share information about a topic clearly and purposefully. In the project I was able to give good information and explain clearly on what she did that was so important. In class I can ask and respond to questions to be an active, supportive listener like when I was doing this project I asked a lot of questions and listened to advice to help me make my project better.

Metal 10

In metal 10 Mr. Kent taught me how to use the lathe machine. I listened well while he explained how to use it and showed us all the power points. there isn’t really anything I could have done differently I am pretty good at using the machine. Mr. Kent is a really good teacher and he explains things really well.

Automotive 11

In auto 11 Mr. Kent taught us how to change a tire. With knowing how to change a tire I am able to change a tire very easily now because I have gotten really good at it. The thing I would do differently when changing a tire is to remember to crack the lug nuts loose before I jack up the car. I think Mr. Kent is a great teacher and explains things really well.

Core Competency Goals

how do you learn best?

I learn best in a environment with very little noise and no distractions.

I can take ownership of my goals, learning and behavior.

I am able to ask my teachers questions when I need help. Like if i have an assignment that i need to work on I will find time and make sure i can complete it and hand it in on time.

I know the group is working well together when I hear/ see…

When I hear people in the group communicating about the right topic and I can see the group working hard. like in football we have to work well in a group and communicate so we know what we are doing and can do it well.

I can work with others to achieve a common goal. I do my share.

like in football we have to work together to achieve a goal. In school I always achieve a goal to complete my homework on time. I am able to work with others to achieve a goal like in a school project to finish it on time.

Some of the things I do to stay mentally and physically healthy include…

I workout as much as I can and I eat healthy food and I get good sleep

I understand I will continue to develop new abilities and strengths to help me meet new challenges.

like when I play football or am in school I develop new abilities and meet new challenges

Power Tech 10

Critical thinking

Throughout this unit I have learned many things like how to change a tire. Knowing how to do this I can change a tire by myself. I also learned how to use a torque wrench so I can torque the tires so the tires don’t fall off. And me Kent is the best teacher.
