Music Monday “LAND” Map Assignment: Self- Assessment

Curricular Response

I had the idea of using Christopher Columbus in my head, and when I read the quote I knew they went together. Christopher Columbus was the first European to set foot on North American soil. He had traded with the indigenous people of North America when he first arrived. He had also kidnapped people from North America to bring back to Europe.

Core Competency Self-Reflection

This was not a typical English assignment due to not having to write many words. There were no struggles in this assignment, as I had hammered it out in under 5 minutes. I selected few good quotes and then tried to think of pictures that would match. I had the idea of Christopher Columbus before I found the quote. Choosing the quotes was very easy as the only thing I thought about was “Does this meet the requirement for the quote”

Psychology Storyboard Reflection

  1. Communication

My group had collaborated to make the storyboard. This required us to have a plan before jumping into creating it, and everyone had to know the plan and execute their part.

2. Personal/Social

When making our project we all had to understand what to do and execute our part correctly. I had to voice my ideas and opinions and create my own section of the project.

3. Thinking

When creating this project, i had to think about what someone living with an anxiety disorder goes through in their lifetime. I also had to research different medications and explain them to the reader.

Information Fluency Assignment

The top 4 are my answers, and the bottom 4 are the questions

My work above is an example of Information Fluency. I think that my work falls under this fluency due to it having the same process that I followed, even though the interpretation of the poem is not a fact. I have come up with my answers from many sites and blended it all together into the answers. The first A is Ask, and the questions have already been written. The second A is Acquire, I have acquired the Information shown from many sources, including well known websites to different people’s personal blogs and journals to see their interpretation of the poem. The third A is Analyze, I did this by looking at all the interpretations and finding the most common one or the one that makes the most sense to me. The fourth A is Apply; I did this by Creating a citations section at the bottom and including these interpretations in my answers. The last A is Assess, this is the equivalent of proofreading and double checking everything makes sense. This assignment has developed my information fluency by making me look for interpretations instead of solid facts. This is because it is harder to determine what is correct and incorrect when dealing with Interpretations and not facts.
