Personal/Social Competency Reflection
I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, including the fact that my teachers and parents can see what I post online and how you can spread awareness and connect with people. Since what I post on the internet can be seen by everyone, it can have an impact on my reputation. Posts also take on different meanings over time, so I might come to regret posting them in the first place. I deal with these things by always being aware of what I am posting and making sure it’s positive. Spreading awareness and helping others are two positive things that can be part of your digital footprint.
Some ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are staying in contact with people and supporting them through social media. For example, on different social media platforms, I can boost others’ confidence or help them out when needed. Whenever one of my friends posts something, I always react positively by liking their post, commenting, or texting them about it.
My online support is helpful to me because, especially now, during a pandemic, I am not able to see all my family and friends in person, but there are many online apps to use that allow me to keep in touch with people while following covid restrictions and staying safe.
