Personal /Social Competency Reflection
I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences. The negative is that even when you delete a post or your search history it won’t be completely erased. There are many ways your privacy can be leaked and your accounts can be hacked. The positive is that you can connect with people and have a good presence online. Depending on how you show your identity online you can lose or gain opportunities in the future.
I make digital ethical choices such as being positive online and respecting others opinion. I make sure to always think before I post anything because I don’t want it to harm my online identity. I also don’t go onto websites I don’t trust or click links that are not safe.
My strategies for maintaining a healthy balanced online presence is quite simple. I am careful of what I comment or post online to not hurt others and be respectful. I especially look at my personal information online and see if it is secure and in the right place. Lastly I double check to see where the information I am sending is going so I don’t send it to the wrong person or place.
