What do you do when you disagree with someone in your group or discussion? How did you learn/develop that strategy?

The Assignment I have chosen is the Market Structures Company Profiles, which was done with my partner Bennett. When facing a disagreement in this assignment I decided to hear both our views on the topic and communicate together what we felt best fit in the situation. I learned this strategy through many trials and errors in different group activities. I have learned that hearing out everyone’s views on the topic not only makes people feel good as they are being heard but also makes individuals feel they are contributing. During the assignment, Bennett and I both contributed our own ideas which we combined into detailed responses to answer the questions. We both listened and heard each other’s ideas and then split up the work to complete the assignment to the best of our abilities as a group. In the end, we both received good marks as we learned from each other and worked collaboratively.

Reflection

This project went well and gave me an idea of how to make a perfectional video. I enjoyed going around, taking pictures, and being able to design my own video. I found it difficult to use the website Canva at first but after the practice video I was better at using Canva. I liked the culinary arts video better as we got to go outside and take pictures of the garden which I did not even know they had. I learned about the course culinary arts and how it functions and can feed over 1400 students.

Core Competency

I can contribute during group activities with peers and share roles and responsibilities to achieve goals.

I did this with Justin to accomplish the videos and we divided the roles up like how I took all the pictures and he helped pick the designs for the videos. We also did this when I did the grade 12 culinary arts video but was not finished and he finished it off when he was done the first video.

Core Competencies

I can confidently interact and build relationships with other group members to further shared goals.

I did this when I had a group script about Romeo and Julieta. I confidently interacted with Eden and Veronika about how we should make the script go as we didn’t remember the plot but we built relationships with other groups and asked what the plot was. Close to the end we almost didn’t finish but we worked together to come up with a few more ideas to accomplish a shared goal.

My Logo

Reflection on competencies and content

I can form new ideas to create new things. I can also build on the ideas of others. I chose this one because I demonstrated this when I made this logo. I formed an idea of what logo I wanted and then I made it.

I want to work on taking others feed back into consideration as others have good ideas to and can inspire you to do something. ill listen and ask for feedback more.

My Script: This is a script about a few kids having lunch but one girl is getting bullied.

In this assignment I worked with others to achieve a goal and also took on roles and responsibilities in a group; I do my share. I did this when I worked with Jacob, adam, and sam. We split the roles and wrote a script together including everyone’s ideas.
