Creating a Positive Digital Footprint
Above is a brief video of me speaking about some important information regarding your digital footprint and how to maintain a positive image online. I used my IPhone to film the video, and used the two videos provided in the assignment for information.
Personal/Social Competency Reflection
By sharing positive content, I spread positive messages, and information I find to be important and that everyone should be informed about. An example of this is Black Lives Matter content; I support a positive movement against racism and inform my peers about what is going on in the world. I also advocate for mental health awareness; I repost things such as positive messages and mental health checks. These posts help spread the message of taking care of your mental health to whoever follows me on social media and reminds people take care of themselves. Some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are always keeping in contact with my friends and family and checking up on them often. I also spend time facetiming my friends and family, to connect better than through text. I call my friends to check up on them and see how their day was. My online support network is helpful because I can keep in contact with all my friends and family. If I needed someone to talk to I could always reach out to my online support network. The same goes the other way around if someone in my support network needed it. I also find it helpful for sharing information. Finally, my online support network provides me a safe space where I can feel safe speaking what’s on my mind and speaking without having to hold back information, I think people might share outside of the network. In conclusion, when I look back at what I post online, I feel confident because I know my digital footprint will reflect positively on me and the people around me.
