Life Saving Measures

The CPR demonstration from Coach Julio was a good refresher on how to properly use CPR on someone. He explained that bad CPR is better than no CPR, which was enlightening and shared his experience’s doing it on myriads of people. During the Naloxone presentation I learnt that first time users can die from a small dose and how Naloxone can save someone’s life if they are overdosing. I want to go into firefighting, so learning and listening to their experience’s was meaningful to me, reminding me that being prepared or mentally aware even a little bit goes a long way.

Critical and Reflective Thinking Competency Reflection

I will use the information they gave me to make decisions and I know now I have to stay calm and act on the situation in front of me. Julio’s stories showed us how stressful it can be in a situation where someone is not breathing, so by getting mentally prepared to help someone is critical.
