For this project, I chose to paint a butterfly for multiple reasons. One of the reasons was it’s one of the things I knew wouldn’t be too ambitious for me to paint, but would still challenge me. While doing this project I was able to recognize my strengths and skills. This allowed me to pick a painting that was suitable for me instead of picking a very ambitious painting that I wouldn’t be able to finish in time or that just wouldn’t turn out good. Painting is something I enjoy, so I find that it’s easier for me to do. I usually find things turn out better when I enjoy making them. My personals values definitely influenced my choices with this project. I’ve always had a connection to butterflies and they appear in most of my projects. I admire butterflies and think they add a lot of beauty to my projects. Overall, what I choose to make for my projects have a big connection to my values and skills.
