Staying positive and keeping safe online is super important nowadays because of our digital footprint. You see, our digital footprint is like the trail we leave behind when we use the internet kind of like the mark we make in the sand at the beach. According to Wikipedia and the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security, it’s all the stuff we do online, from the things we post on social media to the websites we visit. So, it’s smart to be careful about what we share and who we connect with online. Learning about this stuff from places like the Edge Learning Center can help us make better choices and protect ourselves from online dangers. Plus, it can make our online experience more positive, which is always a good thing!
Examples of unsafe internet activities are: Going on sketchy websites, trying to pirate songs and videos, meeting up with someone you met online and, going on chat websites with anonymous people.
Ways everyone can be safe online are: Using strong passwords, keeping personal info private (home address, bank info etc…), not going on bad websites and, not trusting people you meet online.

Personal/Social Competency Reflection
Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include spending time in nature and exercising in the gym instead of being online.
Some of the ways I work to build and maintain online relationships are talking to my friends online whenever i have a chance and playing games with them as well.
I make digital ethical choices such as not commenting when i don’t need to, not sharing personal information when it is not needed, and posting positive things whenever I have the chance.
