This artifact is an in-class write and I chose this because I showed my thinking by structuring my sentences and thinking about what words to use in order for the sentences to make sense. I had to think about what I specifically wanted to write about and make sure it matched the prompt given and think about whether or not we learned certain words.
Personal/Social
During the write I had to stop and take time to properly go through my sentences and make any changes or adjustments to my words and sentences.
I can ask, respond, listen and give my thoughts to my seatmates during discussions.
I can analyze evidence to make judgements. Showing how I am able to analyze the criteria and properly use it towards the assignment.
I can show a sense of accomplishment and joy. I take pride in my work and myself. Showing how I can find joy in different things even if it did not turn out how I planned it to.
This photo of my artifact shows how all of us were able to ask questions to further understand what to do and complete the conversation in a timely manner. During this time I was able to listen to the ideas my seatmates had and give my input, doing this helped strengthen our ideas on how to put the sentences together and who was going to say what in order for it to make sense. This artifact shows the thoughts that went into creating the sentences and who was going to take what lines so that the conversation would be able to flow smoothly without any problems as sometimes the criteria requires a certain amount of lines for each person in order for everyone to be marked fairly and show their understanding of how to put the sentences together. Doing and creating this conversation allowed me to look over the criteria and follow it properly in order to complete it accordingly, while looking over the criteria for the conversation I am able to make judgements and give ideas to create a prompt to work off of. Even though I might not get the best marks on the tests/quiz’s I am still able to work from it and use it as my motivation to do better and work towards whatever’s next in the class, being able to find a sense of joy and accomplishment helps me by being able to show positivity in the not so good times and having that mindset can help me focus on other important things or give my full focus and try better for whatever is next.
I chose this card because during this project I was able to communicate with others and get different ideas to help me create this card. The making of this card had lots of thinking go into it as I wanted this card to follow a certain theme so I looked up different things relating to that theme in order to create it. All of the drawing in this card were thought about and placement of each drawing had thought go into it so that the card looks like the theme I wanted, even when I thought about certain drawings going into this project not every drawing worked so I had to erase and re think about the drawings and how much space I had left on the card and I also had to think about the placements of the next drawing I wanted to put.
Core competency
I demonstrated my creative thinking skills doing this project by building on different ideas and merging them together to create one big idea that fits the theme I want. I can persevere over time and take time to develop and think of new ideas that can help me create the image I have in my head. I can expect setbacks and failure but can use those setbacks and failures to retry and think about if this would work or if i want to change a design but still have it fit the theme that I want. An example of where I built off of someone else’s ideas is when I was asking my friend about what else I could add or what I can change and I used there suggestion and built off of it to create a card that fits more of what I wanted.
I can identify my strengths and limits, find internal motivation, and act on opportunities for self-growth by working on different equations and seeing which ones I find harder to answer. I can find internal motivation by telling myself that its almost done and that I can work on other things once I am done.

Curricular Response
both challenges improved my understanding in the scientific method because i learned how to to identify problems just by using observations. My partner and i for our egg drop challenge device tried to make a box with a parachute so that the egg inside wouldn’t break but because we didn’t cover the egg properly when we dropped the device the egg ended up breaking . these 2 challenges helped me understand the scientific method more because when we were learning about the challenge we learned more about using experiments to test out a hypothesis. The challenges also taught me more about inductive learning and how to observe problems using observation.
Core Competency Self Assessment and Creative Thinking
Im proud of the egg drop challenge because we both decided on what to do and how we were going to build the device, even though the egg didn’t survive a lot of communication happened between us 2.Using inductive learning to observe problems helped get over some challenges, for example when we realized something we were going to do in our final build wouldn’t work we had to switch that part out and think of something on the spot. I demonstrated that i can create new things when I think about it hard enough or when i take something i’ve already done and then build off of that idea.
