In this project i collaborated very well with my partner. We learned how to communicate and work with each other in a productive way. An example of this is, when we were setting up and figuring out how to proceed with the lab in an orderly way, we had been confused about what to do, but together we looked through the steps one by one and split up some of the instructions. i think through this activity i was able to practice my communication skills and i also think that this activity taught me how to work with others that i may not know or be comfortable with.
When it seems, the good ideas just won’t come to me, I take a break to help calm myself or create space in my mind to generate ideas. If that doesn’t help, I ask someone to help me and suggest ideas. an example of this is the time i was stressed out because of all the work i had to get done, so, i found myself not being able to generate a single idea. taking a break didn’t work so i asked my dad to help me and it totally worked out. i was able to write a draft in the span of ten minutes.
One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is reading because it adds more words and ways of writing into my vocabulary.
An example of something I have spent a lot of time learning about is creative writing. this year I’ve been very interested in creative writing, and I feel I’ve grown and learned lots about it. poetry is always a fun challenge, I’ve even began writing my own poetry in my spare time. the example above is one of my favorite pieces that I’ve written, thus far.
Goals
Going forward i would like to experiment with different types of writing, such as haikus, rhyming poems, sonnets, etc…, I’ve been mainly focused on free writing, so i think in my free time I’ll work on these different writing styles. I would also like to get back into reading more often, i used to read all the time and i don’t know why i stopped.
Overall, my grade 9 year coming into high school has been a very enlightening experience. I feel that I have matured mentally and learned many things. one lesson that I have come to learn is to never judge a book by its cover. multiple times this year I judged people so hard at first glance, but now everyone that I judged ended up becoming my friend. I judged one of my now closest friend.

my favorite website is “my avatar maker”. Avatar Maker – Create your own avatar online this is one of my favorite websites because, it’s meant for school so nobody can get mad at me if I’m on it, and its sort of leaning toward the side of being a game.

Last semester in math class my teacher showed me and my class an inspiring YouTube video about a girl’s life experiences and how she overcame her trials. I thought it was so inspirational, so, ever since, I have been watching one of these life advice videos every time I need encouragement, and this video is one of my favorites.

This is one of my favorite photos from tik Tok because of the feelings it gives off. it gives pushing through life even though there might be rain and making the best of it. this relates to school because people as students should apply this to their lives. things may be hard in the moment but if you push through and actually try then you might find it fun.

I chose this quote because it applies to not only life but school too. most people have a problem with procrastination but like in the quote we are only limited by the thoughts we choose. it may be hard but making the choice is the first step to success.

Mi horario is a times table of all my classes explaining the students and teachers associated with it. i felt that i was really creative while explaining what my classes are like. i really enjoyed writing it. i was able to use my Spanish vocab in a practical way which was very useful and fun.

when I was creating mi horario I would often ask for my friends their opinion. They would give me suggestions and I usually would put them to consideration and or act and build upon them.
I can recognize my emotions and use strategies to manage them.
often times while I was doing mi horario project, I got easily frustrated over tiny details I couldn’t figure out. over time however, I’ve learned how to recognize when i start to get annoyed and manage it by taking a little break.
I can show a sense of accomplishment and joy, I take pride in my work and myself.
After almost every project I complete, I feel accomplished and happy that it’s over. It feels good to finally finish work that’s been hanging over my head.

after doing mi horario I identified one of my strengths. I’m decently good at making work look appealing, so that’s what I did.
my goal
My goal going forward this year is to grow better work ethic, by doing my homework straight when I get home, instead of checking my social media, because it’s very distracting.
I really enjoyed watching this video about how to improve your life. it was very inspirational. 3 points that she talked about in her video that resonated with me are, do what’s best for your body, do what makes you happy not what you think should make you happy, and it’s okay to make mistakes.
The first point about doing what’s best for your body has always stuck with me and is a constant struggle for everyone. I’ve seen so many examples of people trying to tell me what’s best for my body and what I should be doing but I just feel like the way she put it is so inspiring, so I really connected with that.
Do what makes you happy not what you think should make you happy is just so beautiful and true. it really got me thinking about what makes me happy and what will make me happy in the future. will becoming a lawyer and being rich make me happy? do I even want to become a lawyer? these are all great things that I didn’t think to ask myself before.
Last but not least I really liked when she said that it’s okay to make mistakes, I believe that it’s true. Making mistakes is only human, our mistakes mold us into the person we are now. They help turn us into who want to be by learning from them and thinking “okay maybe I shouldn’t have done that, I’m going to do better next time.

The book fully described her, except for her body figure. I guessed that from the way that they talked about her.

they seemed like good build up points to the story.

if the book didn’t already explain, then a way that we can figure out the setting is by taking in the little details like what town there near or how they talk, if they have phones etc..
· Explain what the word mood means in literature and movies. Why did you pick the song that you picked?
The mood is the amount of seriousness in the story. like if the setting is a war, than the mood would be sad or depressing. I chose the song that I choose because my book made me cry a couple times and piano music really enhances that a little more. I would have used different music if I could find it.

Core Competency Reflection
When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I take a little break by going outside and taking in the view or I make tea.
I appreciate feedback on my work so I can improve, and I prefer it in the form of little notes.
Some skills I have developed to make my creative activities better are being aware that I can only do so much in one day. So, I have to take breaks and let my mind reset every once in a while.
I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, for example, i need to be careful about what I post online because it could very likely affect my future career or schooling etc… so I adjust my actions by thinking carefully about how I do things online.
Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include not opening sketchy texts or adds, because they may lead me to illegal websites or some kind of scam etc…
My strengths as a digital citizen include that I’m very careful about what I post online and I’m not opening texts from strangers or giving them personal info.
I’m using a GIC because even though it’s slow, it’s stable, and safe/ I won’t lose any money.

How did you find working with your group?
i find working with a group helps me understand problems better. the only downside is that i work more productively alone.

when i figured out a question first, i shared it with the rest of the group and they did the same for me, which was helpful because i wasn’t trying to learn it on my own.

Answer: i learned that everything can be affected by the tiniest error, for example, covid made the whole world go into quarantine and it effected almost every business. some rose to the top making more money than ever and some plummeted so hard that it can never rise back up. millions lost their jobs and so much more.
