Creating a Positive Digital Footprint
Personal/Social Competency Reflection
I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences including an untrue depiction of me and also missing out on oppurtunities in my future. So, I adjust my actions in ways like always checking my privacy settings so that I’m not unintentionally giving away my information to other people, and to always be aware of what I’m about to post and deciding whether or not it’s really necessary. My strengths as a digital citizen include being able to research and many online sources and websites etc. to find relavent and correct information on whatever I’m studying or learning at the time. That skill helps me in the classroom and with my schoolwork because I’m able to research and find information that I actually need and help me understand the concepts more, not only that but it also helps me determine whether or not a website is reliable and safe. Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include having secure passwords so that I’m the only one who can post on my accounts and be aware of what’s being posted on my account, I also avoid sharing specific details about my personal life on my social media like my school and location. Lastly, I always try to keep on top of all my social medias for things like who follows me, who I follow and what I comment and post on stories.
