Cooking at Home #2 (leftovers)

For this assignment i made quesadilla. I choose this meal for the leftover assignment because we had leftover beans and turkey i could use. I didn’t use a recipe for this meal. If i made quesadillas again i would pay more attention to them while they are in the oven because i almost burnt them. I’m glad that i was able to prevent them from burning though which would probably be by biggest success in this dish. I’m proud that i was able to make something new.

Cooking at home #3 Building your skills (tools)

For this project i used a waffle maker which was one of the few tools we had in our house that i had not used before. The safety concerns are pretty limited as long as you use it properly. But you can get shocked or burnt if you are not careful. When using a waffle maker you should make sure it is preheated your batter is spread evenly and you cool off the waffle maker before putting it away. A waffle maker can’t really be used for anything else besides waffles. I did use a recipe when i made my waffles. I made a mistake when i was making the waffles because i forgot to read through the whole recipe so i would definitely change that next time. But it didn’t make a big change to the recipe when i made the mistake and i easily overcame it. I just made the batter slightly thicker. I’m proud that i could overcome my mistake.

Food’s Cooking at Home #1

I made sushi during this week. I used a recipe for the sushi rice but made the rest without one. I think if i made sushi again i would add less rice vinegar and try to roll neater. I didn’t have many challenges because sushi is quite simple to make the only problem i had was rolling the sushi roll tight enough. I am most proud of how much my knife skills improved and i think i did well in the end even if it was a bit messy.
