Understand and Using Visual Diagrams

Provide a SPECIFIC example of when you used that strength to help you successfully complete an assignment or task.  What class was it in?  What was the assignment/task?  HOW did this learning strength help you be successful?

During our graphing unit in Math, the visuals such as bar graphs, histograms, and pie charts helped me understand the relationships between 2 or more variables. An example of this was when we had to ask various people on the modes of transportations they take to go to school. Our objective was to tally the different answers and graph them using excel. The bar graph showed how many people walked, biked, bussed, or got a ride. This strength helped me be successful because I can confidently and consistently use visual diagrams to help me understand information provided. I can also use this skill in the future to help me interpret things I may not understand just by reading.

Core Competency Reflection

I can identify ways in which my strengths can help me meet challenges, and how my challenges can be opportunities for growth.

Like my strengths can help me meet challenges by meeting new tactics and being more confident in overcoming things that are difficult. I’ll keep practicing and challenging until I get the hang of it.

CPR and substance abuse reflection

I wasn’t here for naloxone presentations but I was for substance abuse and CPR, I recently learned CPR lately, which is an essential ability that may save lives. I couldn’t help but think about the potential major impacts this knowledge might have on my life. Thinking of situations where quick response could be critical, I realized how much responsibility comes with learning about CPR. A sense of empowerment developed when someone realized they were prepared to help someone in a life-threatening circumstance. It got me thinking about how important it is to be a capable, accountable person who is ready to act in an emergency. My awareness of the connection of people in times of crisis has increased along with my sense of personal ability thanks to my acquired knowledge of CPR. And for substance abuse, Thinking back on substance misuse has made me more conscious of the possible effects it could have on my life. Realizing the difficulties people encounter in maintaining their physical and mental health, I’m reminded of the value of a supportive environment and asking for assistance when necessary. This information highlights how important it is to make wise decisions in order to protect one’s own health and the health of people around one.

Critical and Reflective Thinking Competency Reflection

I can analyze my own beliefs and consider views that do not fit with them“ Think about what you believe, listen to different ideas, and talk openly with others who see things differently. Pay attention to how you feel and question why you believe what you do. This helps you be open-minded and understand complex issues better

Organizing your binder and digital files, Every once in a while I always clean my binder in LEC every time it gets messy. It helped me scroll through the missing pages that I need for the specific class I’m in whenever I got to bring out work or homework

I can identify ways in which my strengths can help me meet challenges, and how my challenges can be opportunities for growth

This is true because half of my strengths helped me a lot through out both semesters and one thing I’m good is not giving up my work that’s over due, I still make the effort to hand it in even when it’s late. it helps me grow to understand that I have to hand in my work on time and be prepare for 11th grade because it is much harder.

Understanding the Learning Process

I found myself understanding the learning process in math. When we were learning measurement, in order for me to understand the unit I would ask questions and focus on writing down notes in class. When I was stuck and did not understand the concepts I would ask for help from my peers and teacher.

Core Competency Reflection

Asking questions when I did not understand helped me learn more and deepen my knowledge of what we were learning. As I move onto older grades it is important to ask questions as concepts are going to get more challenging. I am able to reach out for help and identify when I need extra support.

CPR Reflection

My Learning of CPR

CPR Reflection

What was something you learned that you didn’t know or consider before? I learned that it is important to communicate with the patient before the go down as it will keep them calm. It is important to keep them talking and try to get information from them.

What is a key takeaway from the Theory or Practical CPR unit? Always be confident in yourself, this will help you preform better when it comes to actually having to help someone.

How does this unit connect to the nutrition unit learned previously?  This connects to the other unit because in order to keep your body healthy and your heart healthy, you need to have good nutrition and take care of your body.

Core Competency Reflection

In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by asking questions to my peers and to my teacher. This helped me expand on the information we were learning and helped me have a better understanding.

One area of CPR in which I’d like to spend more time learning is preforming CPR. I enjoyed learning how to preform CPR and had fun learning the techniques, I would like to spend more time practicing CPR.

In this unit, I am proud that I accomplished learning how to preform CPR and am happy that I now know how to save a life if it comes down to it.

Core Competency Goals

In discussions and conversations, I help to build and extend understanding by contributing to groups when working in group projects and doing my part. I can help write down notes and cover the areas that I am most confident in. I can help the other students in my group by explaining to them what I understand and furthering my knowledge by asking them questions in the areas I’m not strong in.

One strategy or activity that stimulates my imagination is reading. When I read stories I paint pictures in my head of what the story is telling me instead of just reading the words on the paper. By using this strategy it helps me understand what the story is telling me and I can connect my ideas better when the pictures are painted.

When I need to boost my mood or re-focus, I like to go on walks. When I am struggling to focus or if I am in a bad mood walking tends to clear my head and help me regain focus. Walking is a way for me to step out of what I am doing, take a break from it and then go back and get ready to start working again. After going on a walk I feel ready to learn again and work through the things that are challenging me.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

therefore, overall my movie is a good way to describe my book.

Core Competency Reflection

  • Some of the ways I work to build and maintain relationships are talk to them and hang out with them a lot to avoid them feeling that they don’t like me and think I’m not trustworthy.
  • I notice when people feel left out and and I call them, I visited them, I check up on them to make sure they feel included.
  • I can represent and address multiple perspectives in this way cause being a teenager is having the best time of your life but there will be struggles but sometimes you have to let them go cause this is your life.
