Law Deserted Island Project

About the activity

For the desert island project, my partner Anna and I had to come up with a legal code to keep order on the island. We had the scenario that our class of 30 students have been selected to go on a vacation, but on the plane ride to our destination, the plane crashed and stranded everyone on a deserted island. We had to come up with authority, types of laws, types of punishments, and how laws would be enforced, as well as compare it to different legal systems talked over in class.

Core Competency Reflection

I can work with others to achieve a goal. I chose this one because my partner and I had to work with a partner to complete the assignment to our best abilities. We worked together during class time as well as outside of school.

I can take on roles and responsibilities in a group; I do my share. I chose this one because I had to distribute responsibilities and focus on my own tasks to finish on time and come out with a good mark.

I can understand and share information about a topic of interest in a clear, organized way. I chose this one because we had to organize our information in a clear, organized way for our final presentation of the project

I can analyze evidence to make judgements. I chose this one because we had to compare and contrast the differences between our legal system and two others that were mentioned in class, as well as the Canadian legal system.
