Data and Solutions
1 Yr GIC and 3 yr GIC answers (year 1) $82,800.00, $83,360.00 (year 2) $85,698.00, $86,861.12 (year 3) $88,697.43, $90,506.29Work done for both solutions
1 Year GIC 80,000 x 1.035 = 82,800 82,800 + 10,000 = 92,800 92,800 x 1.035 = 96,048 96,048 + 10,000 = 106,048 106,048 x 1.035 = 109,759.68 109,759.68 + 10,000 = 119,759.68
3 Year GIC 80,000 X 1.042 = 83,360 83,360 x 1.042 = 86,861.12 86,861.12 x 1.042 = 90,509.29 90,509.29 + 30,000 = 120,509.29

As you can see from my solutions and data, a 3 year GIC works sufficiently, as a 1 year GIC isn’t enough.
I used excel to construct these graphs.

2. How did you contribute to the group? And how did others in the group contribute to your learning? – I contributed to the group by helping the group with calculations and jotting down answers.
3. Did you use any other the solutions proposed by your group? Why or why not? – My group and I used the solutions I used for a 1 year GIC.
4. How would you rate your ability to collaborate with others in your group on a scale of 1-4 (1 not good; 4- excellent) – For this assignment I could’ve collaborated more, so I give myself a 3.
