I learn best doing hands on activities that keep me focused and interested. We do a lot of it in science class with labs and projects. I like to visually see what Im learning about and ways to connect it to the world around me.
Core Competency Reflection
This semester has not gone as well as I would have liked it too. I create new goals all the time and want to go forward with my life but something is always holding me back. I have many personal goals but for school I would like to show up more, and on time, try to be nicer to people that I don’t like, or just not engaging at all, and putting more effort into my assignments and work.
This lab I worked in a group which is not something I usually do. I used collaboration skills to participate in the group and get it done faster. And Social awareness by trying to hold in emotions or annoying things when working with a group so you don’t hurt their feelings.
Having healthy habits with food, exercise, and people make you an all round happier and healthier person. This unit I have learned about having a balanced diet. Specifically non-meat diets are very beneficial to high level athletes. Then reason for that is because animal proteins clog arteries and plant based proteins improve blood flow, as well as increase stamina. I have also learned about reading the food labels and if choosing to have a treat only taking the serving size intended for that food.
Core Competency Reflection
I participate in classroom activities like PE usually trying my best and competing, I also participate in school sports like Basketball and Soccer as well as working outside from school. I demonstrate inclusive behaviour by trying to be nice to everyone and make sure they have a group to play with. I can strongly advocate for myself and others when I feel something is unfair.
For this project we had to read the hunger games book, then we also had to use listening and communication skills when we were working as a group to create a strong case with valid arguments. This mock trial was a good opportunity to get comfortable speaking in front of the class.
Core Competencies
This Project I improved my communication skills by working as a big group, sharing and compromising ideas, listening and working together to achieve the same goal. That project helped me gain confidence to present in front of the class because we got to work with people we are comfortable. Overall this year has been good and I’ve loved this course.

Personal/Social Competency Reflection
I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, including pictures or comments I post or even my friends posting about me. So after doing research and this project I adjust my actions to having private accounts, thinking about what you post or say before you do it because anyone could see, and creating a positive digital footprint for opportunities later in life. Some of my preferred strategies for maintaining a healthy, balanced online presence include posting relevant information and not too often. My values around social media and what you post infers a lot about you, so be smart and safe.

These images are 2 tests I’ve done very well on. The reason for the high scores is because I’ve been engaged with asking questions, answering questions, talking to classmates around me, debating. When I do all these things in class it helps me remember things for the test so I don’t have to study as much. When you actively listen in class and share your thoughts, opinions, questions if you don’t understand, and share your answers if you think you know it.
