Verity by Colleen Hoover

Verity by Colleen Hoover - A Book Review — The Quill

The writing process:

The book that I decided to read for this review is Verity by Colleen Hoover. She is an author that I already have read from, so I know her writing style is something that appreciate. The novel was an easy read for me as the plot of it had interesting twist where it has one guessing and excited to finish it. At times it will make one have the feeling of eeriness which I really enjoyed. An aspect that I didn’t like doing was the presentation, as I never liked speaking in public. I wanted to not present to the class and just do it privately but I pushed through and did it with my best effort. After it I felt a sense of accomplishment and relief.

Core Competency Reflection

Critical and Reflective Thinking: I use evidence to make judgements or decisions as demonstrated in this… when I chose the quotes for the protagonists, antagonist, initiating incident, rising action, climax and denouement and was able to explain why I chose those quote to describe the event or person.

Personal Awareness and Responsibility: To celebrate an accomplishment such as public speaking, I stood up in front of the class even though I was anxious and terrified to do it.

Collaboration : I show others that I truly value their contributions by paying attention to others when they also had to present their book review to show them respect.

Personal Awareness and Responsibility: A long term goals for myself include, continuing to participate in public discussions and my plan to achieve them is to not allow myself to avoid presenting.
