I chose the renowned scientist, astronomer and mathematician because I learned about him a bit during middle school and I find his work very interesting and cool. I learned that Kepler once discovered a star but later after he died scientists found out it was an exploding star and named it Kepler’s Supernova. Kepler was born on December 27th, 1571 in Weil Der Stadt, Germany, his biggest accomplishment was his 3 laws of planetary motion:
-Kepler’s First Law: The planets move in elliptical orbits with the sun at a focus.
-The second Law- an imaginary line joining a planet and the sun sweeps out an equal area of space in equal amounts of time.
-The Third Law, also referred to as the law of harmonies- It compares the orbital time period and radius of an orbit of any planet, to those of the other planets.
Johannes Kepler died on November 15th, 1630 in Regensburg, Gemany
