Digital footprint

Self reflection

Some ways i like to build/maintain online reletionships are by facetiming, calling, and texting on apps like snapchat and instagram. Eccpecially now with covid its alot harder to have face to face conversations so the fact that you can talk online and check in really helps.

Some short/ long term goals with my digital spaces include spending less time on social media and trying to maintain my privacy so I never have to worry about it in the future ,my plan to achieve them is by setting a limit for myself on how much time i spend on social media like 1 hour, and posting as little as possible, avoid oversharing, and getting stronger passwords.

I know that my digital footprint can have both positive and negative consequences, including affecting future school and job offers, but also keeping in touch with people and connecting with the world. so I adjust my actions by really take a few seconds to think about what I’m posting/doing online to avoid problems in the future.

Media Fluency Reflection

Name of the town: Greyfordville

Company Name: Quicksliver wool co.

Resources available: wool, wheat

Elements of the town: Big factory , large garden, small complex near factory where residence stay

Population: 1, 802

Explanation / Brief History: This town is located in eastern England since the early 1800s, most residence work at the factory where they spend most of their day making wool, its a very fast pace job. However people that are too young to work in the factories work in the garden where they grow wheat. Then after a long day they had back too their complex which is where almost all of their wage goes too, the rest goes too the little amount of food they can get near the complex.

A. How was the ease of access in building the town, and what software did you use specifically?

It was difficult at times because it would glitch out at times and not work, it was also hard to save. I use the website City Creator

B. Were you able to apply the skills you learned in the planning stages appropriately to a digital environment?

Yes I kind of had an idea of what i wanted to look like and took the steps to figure out how to do it.

C. What were the sources you researched that made this an “authentic make-believe” town?

I searched up images of towns looked back in the day, i also learnt from Lyddie what a town would kind of look like from their daily experinces.

D. Is there other software online that could have done the job better? Explain

Not really I think the website I used did a pretty good job.

My Reflection

Tim Burton, in Edward Scissorhands, used a lot of close-ups in the Kim talking to Edward scene to show that Kim cares about Edward in order to prove that there is a connection and romance between the two. For example, in my own interpretation, I changed his scissor hands in some sense because when Edward was with Kim he felt like he was normal and there was a lot of high key lighting but in the end scenes when Kim left he realized that he’s always gonna be different, not enough. This adaptation from film to visual novel taught me to see movies and shows from a different perspective and the way they’re made. Now I find myself paying attention to the lighting and cuts when I’m watching a movie.

most memorable foods experience

my most memorable foods experience was the mal and cheese off. I thought it was really fun coming up wit ideas of what my Mack and cheese off would be. We ended up going with a Mack and cheese sandwich, since we made grilled cheese the day before me and my groupmates thought it would be a good idea to combine them both together for the ultimate comfort food. The day of the lab we washed our hands and got the ingredients from the supply table , the safety per cations were knife ,meat ,and stove safety. we toasted the two piece of bread then put the Mack an cheese in it. To mix up the Mack and cheese we added two types of cheese for extra flavor, some jalapeno for some spice, some herbs for extra color, and some bacon for protein. The final result turned out really good it was crunchy, soft, warm, and perfectly melted. It looked very nice and appetizing and it smelt really good. And even though we didn’t win I really enjoyed making this.
