Math 10 FPC Self Assessment.

I progressed in this course throughout the semester by doing my math homework and practicing the different formulas. Because it help me in understand the chapter we were working on. Next semester I would like to work on not being distracted by my friend/anyone and stay focus on work that I needed to do. Some areas I still need to work on for next semester is my work habits.

The only goal I made prior to this course was to not be the worst in class. and I think I’ve met that goal. . A strategy I used to self-regulate my homework was to do it during class. It sounds like something obvious to do but it really helped me, since l love trying to solve things by myself/ask questions, I self-advocated when I needed help with some challenging questions. I would ask Mr. Sun for help on questions that I couldn’t solve on my own.

I felt like I have improved on my ability to work through step by step and to ask questions. I feel like this will help me in my next math course because I think that it will strengthen my ability to be successful in the next course because I will be able to work through each problem methodically. I think I improved on getting my work done. As I previously stated, I would do my homework during class so I would only have a few questions to do at home. I will do this next semester, because no one likes having to do math homework when you’ve had a long day at school and also it is better to do it right after you learned it so that you don’t forget all the steps and equation. I think that I have improved my understanding of the math concepts with the help of my teacher and I have also improved my work habits which will be useful in next semester/future math courses.

Math Core Competency

Critical and Reflective Thinking.

one topic that I felt understood well is the polynomials chapter two. I really enjoyed learning about factoring calculating the area of the geometric figure etc…. I Understood the concept and idea of it well. one think that I would like to learn more about is the (express without brackets or negative exponents) section. It was a bit hard for me to remember all the formal since it’s the question were really long and confusing at the same time. While preparing for the test I reviewed the notes that were taken in class and the homework that I had completed from previous units, and I also used the IXL app to prepare for the test. One thing that I am going to do differently next test is studying with a group and communicate more with the other students. More like collaborating and discussing with groups. But overall, I would say that the way I prepared for the test was great so I wouldn’t change anything about it.

Socials Studies 10 Reflection

Socials Reflection

This assignment shows my researching and thinking skills. it also shows my ability to make educated decisions on weather a source is reliable or not. This project demonstrated the core competency of critical and reflective thinking. And also this project was one of my favorite project that we did in this class. I chose to reflect on this assignment because I spent a lot of time working on it and I also put a lot of effort into it. During this project, I learned more about important events and people during the 1920’s.

Romeo and Juliet

I learned three life lessons by reading the play. The first lesson is: Don’t make rash decisions. The second lesson is: Think through decisions. The third lesson is: young love or infatuation is not a good reason to kill yourself. Romeo and Juliet teaches us that true love is not to be tampered with, or else dire consequences will result. Romeo and Juliet are, obviously, infatuated with one another despite their feuding families.

4 things I have learned from Romeo and Juliet. 1) Love knows no boundaries. Romeo and Juliet were interested in each other before they even knew who each other were. 2) Too much of a good thing can turn out bad. Do not rush, take one step at a time. Try eating your favorite food all day everyday and soon you will realize you do not like it anymore. Same with everything in life. Everything in moderation is best.

3) Communication is key. Romeo and Juliet ended in a suicide tragedy of miscommunication. Romeo was not aware Juliet was faking her death and in turn he took his own life and a few moments later followed by Juliet doing the same. Had there been better communication, Romeo and Juliet may have lived a long life together. The lesson here is, always communicate. In this modern world where communication is almost instantaneous, we have no excuses!

 4) Forgive and forget. Though some may agree that Romeo and Juliet’s death is a tragedy, you can also argue that a lot of “good” things came out of it too. After their children’s death, Montague and Capulet ceased their long rivalry. Is it really worth it though? All because they did not want to forgive and forget. I may be wrong but to me it seemed like they do not even remember what they were fighting each other anymore. Having hatred in yourself hurts no one more than it would hurt yourself.

Shakespeare wants us to learn that nothing good can come from revenge. This play shows how only pain and suffering can come from revenge. Shakespeare uses immensely powerful language to reinforce that lesson. Shakespeare brings to the attention how revenge always ends in tragedy, Romeo and Juliet is one of the most famous tragedies to date.

Things Shakespeare Taught Us About Love are Do not try and change the one you are with, it is a tale as old as time, Family approval is not everything, A mini break can reinvent a relationship, there really is a thin line between love and hate, if your partner gives you a present, hold onto it, Jealousy never ends well, Meddling sometimes works, Love is blind, Love brings out the best in us, and

Life without love is not worth living. Just like when Romeo’s entire world is shattered when he learns that his beloved Juliet is dead. Romeo’s decision to kill himself only after losing Juliet can be seen as a testament to how much she truly means to him. Even after losing everything else, he holds on to the hope of a future with her, and only gives up on life after that one hope is snatched away. Juliet, in turn, clearly loves Romeo just as deeply, as it also takes her literally a second to choose eternal in death with him over a miserable life alone.

Love stories do not always end happily. But in the end, love is still stronger than hate. Romeo and Juliet may not have gotten their happy ending, but the love that compelled them to willingly die for each other still accomplished a miracle: it ended the generations-old feud between the Capulets and Montagues.

Science Core competency Self-Assessment

Collaborating through known and an unknown acids and bases

My Artifact: Image taken during the unknown Acids and Bases Lab in Science 10.

I demonstrated my collaboration skills by asking and listening in this known and an unknown acid and bases lab, I help to build my understanding by asking questions and communication. My partner and get the lab done faster by helping each other and asking others around us. My partner shared ideas with me by telling that we should add the unknown acid before so then it would be faster to just add all the other different indicators to it. And I also shared my ideas by telling my partner that once the spot plat was full of the chemicals that one of us would take out the litmus paper and that the other would rinse the remaining chemical, so that’s how you can tell that my partner and I split the responsibilities and we both help shared ideas to each other to get the lab done as we knew we were short on time. . In this lab my partner and I learned that communication improves the way we work and communicate with others.
